Once again they seem to be streamlining all of Kara's prior canon and by directly referencing her history with Brainiac throughout the various continuities



Really Kara was the MVP for me this issue and it seems she has more a important role to play in this event that I initially thought so I'm hyped to see that play out, again she has movie coming out it only makes sense for writers to start centering her more

Kara was kicking ass and taking names this issue, Williamson writes her well:



Since Brainiac 2 shows up in the backups I’m guessing that Kara’s secret date at the start of the arc was Brainiac 5. Williamson is treating most of Johns run as canon, maybe he might bring back the Retroboot Brainiac 5, or use the Bendis Brainiac 5 since Bendis teased a romance between Kara and Brainiac at the end of his Action run.

To remind her of her losses, was my assumption when I read it.

Anyway, cool issue. Always great to see Kara in the spotlight. Interesting that we're bringing Coluan survivors and Brainiac's son to this story, makes me wonder if Vordan is correct and the date is indeed Brainiac 5 (I had assumed it was just filler dialogue but then it was brought up again)

Yeah, it's been mentioned in multiple titles so I assume the identity of the date is going to come up again.

If only we could read those past stories that connect to this and enhance the history of who Kara has become....but DC wont tell us what actually matters
