Classic 80s Music Videos
Man, I hated the 80s when I was living through them. Getting bullied at school, fear of nuclear annihilation, Thatcher, Reagan, Kohl.
It took me decades to get a little nostalgic about them. So here's to big hair, neon colored leggings, shoulder pads and drum machines.

I liked the girl. Always wondered who she was. Great song, too.

I believe she was Morten's girlfriend at the time. Her name was something like Bunny Bainey...or something, lol. I think they looked great together!

I'd never heard the Fun Boy Three version of Our Lips Are Sealed until a few years ago, Terry Hall co-wrote it with Jane Wiedlin (of the Go-Go's). I like their version more.

Doing "The Carlton" before Carlton. Also see Belinda Carlisle from the Go Go's...

I've posted other versions of this song in different threads but I'll take any excuse to post Frankie's version of Born To Run

Paul Rutherford close to steals the show as proto-"tambourine man"

But of course if we talk about the 80's videos, we do need to talk about the vid for Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart"...I thought it was crazy when I was a kid, and I think it's even crazier now.

The song was written by Jin Steinman ( most famous for writing songs for Meat Loaf ) and I guess he originally wrote it for a musical he was working on about Nosferatu or something. Considering that, the video almost makes sense seeing as it looks like some unmade horror movie from the late 70's

Now, I have to drag this just a short ways off topic...
The scene is a Halloween show that a friend's band was playing a while ago. In between bands, there was a "Halloween..." themed karaoke set. This young lady gets up dressed as Tonya Harding(ice skates and all...), and proceeds to knock the cover off of "Total Eclipse Of The Heart"
For a while after her round of applause died down, we were talking over that it was a bummer that more folks didn't get to see that lady who put that kinda thought into her Halloween karaoke number.
So, cheers to her.
