Steve being in the center of all this mystical magical craziness really feels fresh to me. I'm really enjoying it thus far. This run is going to be a great pallet cleanser before we return to spies and espionage.

Steve's in this week's episode of X-Men 97.

Josh Keaton, whom I still prefer as Spider-Man of all the Marvel characters he's done, isn't too bad here as Captain America. That said, I could definitely see both sides of the argument with him and Rogue. [spoil]Rogue's grieving Gambit's and Magneto's deaths at the hands of the Sentinels back in episode 5 on Genosha and is quite understandably out for blood. Cap, while sympathetic to her cause, just as understandably isn't going to risk making a bad situation even worse by jumping in and busting up heads without getting proof that can actually stand up in a court of law and achieve the justice she seeks. In the end, it's at least more balanced than how a lot of these situations have gone in the comics proper.[/spoil]
it's way past time for Cap to have his own solo animated series again. He hasn't had a solo series since the 1960s shorts. That is bizarre and more than a little shameful.
I'm glad Josh Keaton got to voice straight-up Cap but I feel bummed they didn't bother to get back any of his actual VA's from 90's cartoons for continuity.
Also they characterized him well outside the fact that he has to be functionally useless in an X-Men cartoon.

I know, right?! If it happens, it'd be great. But I'll always love the original version, no matter what... :)
They likely couldn't. His Spider-Man (and X-Men Evolution) VA David Hayter went on to write the first two X-Men movies, so they probably couldn't afford him. His X-Men VA Lawrence Byrne seems to be untraceable. I can't even find any wiki pages for him.

I feel like David Hayter the VA wouldn't cost as much as David Hayter the writer.

David Hayter was Captain America in X-Men: Evolution, too? Cool.

LOL! I was under the impression that there were no speaking lines for this version of Cap, guess a re-watch is in order then... :p

Unlike Cap's arc in Spider-Man TAS Season 5, yeah.
