Rafe Judkins ('UNCHARTED') and Michael Lesslie ('THE HUNGER GAMES: BALLADS OF SONGBIRDS & SNAKES') are reportedly the two of the finalists to be the writer for Marvel Studios upcoming X-Men film.

The agreement also provides Disney with the opportunity to reunite the X-MEN with the Marvel family under one roof and create richer, more complex worlds of inter-related characters and stories that audiences have shown they love. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn't be two Marvels.

That seems to indicate that even Marvel knows when their recastings have failed to really resonate and how the Tom Holland Spider-Man can't merit any true solo film of his own. He always needs someone to boost him. The very fact that he still needs Tobey and Andrew to make him relevant is yet another sign that recastings do not always work and audiences might still be clamoring for the FoX-Men.

Which, btw, is more or less what happened with First Class. We got a rebooted cast and it didn't work which is why DOFP was created specifically to bring back the original cast. Fox's biggest error then was doubling down on the prequel cast again, because they got cocky from DOFP and thought they could emulate the MCU and expand on a whole line of prequels, when all people wanted was the original cast.
thats what Sony what and its not that Holland cant have a solo movie its just that the 3 MCU spiderman films needed to co-star a MCU character as part of their contract with Sony

we don’t know if they’ll get the job… a lot of times it’s someone not on final list. also a lot of mcu movie writers don’t have great credits prior to their films. obviously these two have given a great pitch to make it this far. also even after getting the job mcu changes writers alot too…

    stay tuned true believer!

their pitch must’ve been awesome but i doubt either get the job it’s always someone outta left field… probably leak their names so the real writer’s agent comes to the negotiating table faster idk

Lol. Yeah sure every movie after Endgame (not counting NWH) should have had the greatest writers in humans history by that logic

i just feel that X-MEN is the sleeping giant that can turn into a golden goose for the mid 2020/30’s. so im just assuming feige is super intrigued with their pitch. which is supposed to be female heavy & feature X-MEN not heavily used in fox-men movies

Won't watch it if there's no Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Jean Grey and Beast in it.

Well, I expect all the male characters to be irrelevant at best and the movie to be only about the female characters.

Storm, Rogue, Psylocke, etc, etc, the female X-Men are incredible, but X-Men should be for everyone. Don't shove Wolverine, Magneto, and Xavier down our throats for the n-teenth time, but the boys should be able to play too. X-Men '97 has been pretty great(though still with its own flaws), to the point of being an anomaly, but the movie side of things is making me nervous again.

How reputable is this source? The name sounds like it's click bait or parody.

That's what has made the X-Men interesting. It has a character for everyone. As an introvert with major social skill problems I always identified with Cyclops. I just hope he's not sidelined this time, the only movie that did him justice (kinda) was the first X-Men movie
