The grand finale to “Impossible” is here, and it…well, it is as insane as you think it would be. First of all, we’ve got this big DOOM-MITE guy over here, check him out…he’s about to eat Batman and Superman! What would that even taste like? Let’s hope our heroes never let him find out, as the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight save the fifth dimension from IMPLOSION or die trying!

That's a very cool cover.
“Look, you can’t put the Superman #77s with the #200s. They haven’t even discovered Red Kryptonite yet. And you can’t put the #98s with the #300s, Lori Lemaris hasn’t even been introduced.” — Sam
“Where the hell are you from? Krypton?” — Edgar Frog
Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #27 Preview (Unlettered)
Writer: Mark Waid
Artists: Dan Mora and Travis Mercer
Word Balloon with Waid where he angrily disputes Roy Thomas getting credit for creating Wolverine
Also talks a bit about Absolute Power. It’s editorially driven and multiple creators took a crack at it prior to him (Snyder, King, Taylor) but couldn’t make it work.

https://colehaddon.substack.com/p/q-...7Dd5iDZ_Xt3kPgRegarding what Waid considers his magnum opus these days:
MW: I’m going to go with Irredeemable, a series which ran from 2009-2012, centered on a former hero named The Plutonian. At first blush, it looks like another of these “Hey, what if Superman went evil?” stories like “The Boys” on Amazon or the film Brightburn or any number of things we’ve seen since, but, A, this predates those works and the near-sub-genre that’s grown up around them, and, B, that’s a deliberate swerve on my end. I think “Superman goes bad and turns murderous and wrecks things!” is lazy. It’s embarrassingly low-hanging fruit because literally anyone could tell that story, and it’s pointless to write a story that the audience could write on its own, without your help. I wasn’t interested in the obvious. Really, how many times can you see a Superman-type character smash stuff and wreak carnage before it gets super-repetitive?
It’s an interesting interview if you’re willing to pay $6, Waid comments on stuff like the overuse of the Multiverse and other topics.

Why is the DC editorial so obsessed with putting Amanda Waller at the front and center of their universe? She was much more interesting as doing her own job in her corner of the world but DC is adamant on turning her into the "Civil Servant" version of Lex Luthor.
Absolute Power sounds dreadful in every way. The concept is stale, the villains are overused (and how come the villain's version of Trinity has no Wonder Woman villain) and it will destroy the momentum that some books were gaining.
Hopefully Waid does a better job with this than he did with his portrayal of the first Superman/Batman team up. Wondy fans will be stoked to hear about this I’m sureBATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD’S FINEST #30
