Sites are reporting a likely 2026 release date, which seems about right.

Think they're also trying to get the Rey film out by next year as well. Wonder if they're trying to do the "yearly Star Wars film" idea that kind of got derailed when Solo didn't do so well.

If Favreau has gone creatively conservative with the characters and fundamentally doesn’t want to build much characterization on them, then just making it a prelude to Thrawn with a budget like $45 Million (three times the average episode budget) aiming for a Solo or better box office ($393 Million+) makes sense.

I still think there’s plenty of “tricks” or decisions you could do to make the film more “can’t miss” and justify a larger budget and box office expectation - pull out some lower ranking Dark Sider or Nightsister as a villain to make Din and Grogu actual underdogs, for instance.

...I still feel like just using some of that “denied” Mando-drama that Din would have to struggle with would be more compelling while still being cheap; even just having someone confront him with their history and making *some* kind of conflict from that would be good.

Din could really use a Basic History Lesson 101, is all I’m saying.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?

I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP
