We all know about it, and we all see it. It's obvious. Nobody ever wants to admit it, but it's there.

People on this sub hate Tim Drake.

The first question to ask: why? Why do you all hate him? The obvious answer: you didn't read him in his prime.

So when I hear somebody say that Damian Wayne is better than Tim Drake, I laugh, because I know that anybody who read Tim in his prime wouldn't think that. Unlike you guys, I have read comics for a significant amount of time, so I know that Tim is better.

You might be jealous of Tim's IQ, or jealous of his status as the first* Robin to ever be called "detective", or whatever. Unless you're a Dixon fan who read Batman in the 90s, or a Johns fan who read Teen Titans in the 2000s, you don't know what real, cold-blooded, detective-ing looks like. And there's nothing wrong with that.

This subreddit would make you think that Tim isn't even a top 100 superhero ever.

The last two have been active in the past few months.

And to put this in further perspective-Duke Thomas got a few too in reddit with most of the hate coming from the "better than Robin comment" or the bat family is too crowd-a comment NOT tossed at those who came after him (Punchline, Ghost Maker, Clown Hunter).

BOTH had hatred for OTHER reasons that we can all figure out.

So… hilariously enough, I was curious and looked up “why I hate Tim Drake” and I got a whole bunch of results for threads like this one. “Why does DC hate Tim Drake?” “What’s with the hate for Tim Drake?”

I only found one dedicated thread about hating on Tim Drake. And honestly it’s not really a discussion as evident from the “You mad, bro” comment. It’s just… funny.

So I think it’s more the impression that Tim is a horrible miscreant taking up precious comic panels. Right now he’s not even really appearing though. So it’s that feeling that other’s are feeling that Tim is terrible.

Makes the most sense.

Not literally that search term, but the point is is that it's a heckuva lot easer to find people loving Tim and wondering how anyone could possibly hate him than actual hate for him. Make of that what you will.
