    Default Green Arrow-- Batman clone?

Just started streaming the ARROW season 2 on the Netflix app. 8 episodes in and it really feels like they were trying to make him Batman what with Ras and so many other Bat-trappings.

So I wondered how the Batboard felt about:

    1) the Arrow and the Arrowverse; and
    2) the Green Arrow character in general. I mean, it looks more of a copycat routine than the way Johns copies Namor when he does Aquaman.

They literally were inspired by the Nolan films and deliberately stole from them....so yes. Arrow is a literal Batman clone wrapped in green.

The Arrowverse is an interesting place. 1st seasons tend to be good, 2nd seasons are decent and then...downhill from there.

Arrow has great fights, some good storylines but the showrunner had ZERO interest in anything Green Arrow or adapting Green Arrow and so the show really suffered on that aspect. For a comic book writer he was really anti-comic. What they do with Dinah is a literal SIN and needs to be studied about what not to do with a character when adapting.

    2. Green Arrow? love him in general. Smallville did a great job adapting Green Arrow. He's the opposite of Batman and I love that.

    The Crossovers were pretty peak.

Green Arrow in the comics was a Batman clone for about 30 years, from his beginning till the Silver Age. He was a wealthy playboy crimefighter with a teenage sidekick and a clown archenemy. He even had an Arrowcave, Arrowcar, Arrowplane and Arrowsignal.

Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams made him into a distinct character in the late 1960s.

Arrow was Batman with a bow.

Golden Age Green Arrow was Golden Age Batman with a bow.

About the Silver Age is when they started to diverge.

Batman Begins was pretty popular and popularized the grounded, gritty origin trend. Green Arrow followed its lead in both Arrow and Smallville.

Unlike Smallville, Arrow does with Ollie's time on the island but it had an oppurtunity too.

You could consider Green Arrow a batman copy but he developed his own style over the decades.

Arrow was decent but Daredevil blew it out of the water pretty fast. So i lost interest and dropped it in the 4th or 5th season.
