The first order of business is a brief history lesson, natch.

Charles Xavier was born to Brian and Sharon Xavier. As a nuclear scientist in Alamagordo, New Mexico, Brian worked hard, lucrative hours at the lab, but he still made plenty of time for loving his family. Then he died in a horrible explosion. Sharon fell for her late husband's partner, Kurt Marko, but the genius Charles easily saw through his caring facade. Kurt neglected his new wife and step-son and brought his horribly nasty boy, Cain, to the Xavier house. Charles suffered loss after loss: his mother died, Cain blew up the house and his step-father, and his telepathy robbed him of his gorgeous yellow hair. Charles excelled at life, while Cain was a jealous loser. One day, Cain broke one of Charles’ many trophies and he beat the hell out of him. Later, Cain drove him off a cliff. But nothing can stop the Professor! After he finished his schooling Charles traveled the world. He met Moira MacTaggert, joined the military for the Korean War, took a trip to Cairo, where met Storm and the Shadow King, and journeyed to Haifa, Israel. In Israel he met Magneto and the future mother of his crazy son, Gabrielle Haller. The power trio parted ways and Xavier left for the Himalayas to be crippled by Lucifer. Luckily, a young Tessa rescued him from the haunted caves and he was treated by Nurse Amelia Voght. After a rough break-up, he founded the Xavier Institute and the X-Men.

Where can you find the Professor these days?
He's on Krakoa starring in Joyful John Holy Hickman's HoxPox!!

And he was recently revealed to be the 24th most popular X-Man on CBR!

Professor X is on the Movie Screen!
The Professor had major roles in the television shows X-Men TAS, Pryde of the X-Men, X-Men Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men. He was also prominent in the X-Men Film Series and portrayed by the greatest Star Trek Captain, the wonderful Patrick Stewart. Charles Xavier saved Rogue by defeating Magneto in the first film, confronted the President of the United States, putting an end to anti-mutant discrimination in the second film, stopped Jean Grey from destroying the world in the third film, and rescued future student Scott Summers from experimentation and certain death in Wolverine: Origins. And he was amazing in First Class despite James McAvoy!!

Didn't he betray the Xmen? We should have this on the Avengers board.

When did he do that? He's done nothing but love them. Some people just can't handle a little tough love.

Or any real love. He saved Scott from his cycle of perpetual nervous breakdowns. The only problem is that he forgot to let him know.

I enjoy Xavier's legacy, moreso than his character. Obviously we wouldn't be enjoying these characters if it wasn't for the founder. So, I'll give props for that

I on the other hand enjoy the character Xavier moreso than his legacy.

So true! And I definitely want to see this in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I am of the opinion that the way to introduce Charles Xavier,

Ororo Munroe aka Storm as a little girl

AND Amahl Farouk aka the Shadow King into the MCU is to adapt Uncanny X-Men #117 for the big screen.

That's how it should have been, but some edgy boys decided to make him a dick. Still, Xavier is love.

It's a bit strange that Xavier is so heavily criticized and much less than, let's say, Magneto despite the criminal record of this latter…
I think it's because of his moral stand that is inevitably in opposition to the nature of his powers and not because of his failures or because he crossed somes lines when against the wall.
Psychics, telepaths, albeit useful, are more or less despised (those sleazy know-it-all…).

I clearly saw the character being despised by the character portrayed by J-Law in X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Is anyone else a little wary of Xavier and his Cerebro hat? Usually, he wouldn't let Emma Frost get away with mind control without some hypocritical posturing. More importantly, is he washing?

What are his "much bolder things?"

Does he hide under the hat because James Asmus looked so terrible bald?
