    Okay, so I mostly picked this up for the cool cover but the summary sounded great too. Unfortunately, I'm finding this novella to be an utter chore to read. There's an interesting story here but the writing style is just putting me off.

    Just finished Crossroads by Jonathan Franzen.

    Starting The Bottoms by Joe R Lansdale today, will follow up with Skinwalkers by Tony Hillerman (the show Dark Winds is based on his novels).

    Looking for recommendations similar to those 3.
