All New Marvel Collected Editions

Hi all,
I'm thinking about picking up the new printing of Frank Miilers DD omnibus as I missed out earlier editions. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how the quality of the book stacks up against the previous editions? I've seen a lot of talk about colour reproduction, paper quality etc. so I'd just like to get an idea of what I'm in for if I buy it. thanks!

This is a new printing not a new edition. So, don't expect them to have fixed the color--Daredevil will still be colored orange half the time. I wouldn't expect them to improve paper quality over the thin crap they've been using, but one can always hope.

It's really not that bad. A few instances where he's maybe not as red as he should be but it isn't at all distracting. Hardly a detraction. Complaints are from really highly (I'd say almost obsessively) exacting people and overblown.


I don't have the most recent printing but I have other books with the same paper and it's fine. Bottom line, don't be hesitant to buy.

Yes, I would agree with you. I have a good chunk of the original DD Miller floppies which I bought as a kid and I compared them with the Omni. I really didn't see much difference at all, if any.

I'm a diehard DD completionist, and it didn't bother me at all.

If you are referring to the original silver age run then just the Marvel masterworks are in hardcover I believe. There are tpbs though, an epic that collects both those materials

Seriously any Marvel Omnibus they're like from 60 bucks up to 200 bucks online such as Amazon and ebay.

Are people being hoarders and/or scalpers all the time or something?
