    - Marketing.

    - Being a Spider-Man book.

    Think that covers it.

    I don't know, and I don't mean that in a negative way.

It is a very successful book, but it can't all be blamed on it being Spider-Man, plus constant big events. Or maybe it can.

I like this series, but am surprised at its numbers.

This thread makes me wish they had a comic industry version of those skits where celebrities read / react to stuff from the Internet people write about them ..

I started reading the book as a kid; wonder if the stuff that makes the older fans snarl meanly and mentally chase kids off our lawns is the same stuff they'll have nostalgia hearts in their eyes over in a decade ...

Will MJ be their Gwen? :x

    shrugs
Gwen is dead, and there are only alternative universe versions of her.
Mary Jane is still alive, and she was married to Peter for 20 years. She's been married to Peter for 30 years in the newspaper comic strip.
At least, Stan Lee had the good sense to listen to his fans.
I created a thread about Dick Grayson/Nightwing and Koriand'r/Starfire. It is to acknowledge and honor their iconic and popular relationship.

I created a fan page about Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson. This page is for all the Spider-Marriage fans.

    Wrong:
    - Peter acting immature
    - Plot holes abound (his tech is often showed to be crazy powerful, and then his suit gets destroyed by Ben Reilly, or Osborn neutralizes his weapons, etc etc)
    - Lack of classic supporting cast
I think I can safely replace this earlier post of mine with a single world, in the wake of ASM's most recent issue: "Nothing."

What marketing strategies work in this case?
