RETURN TO OZ was a sequel to WIZARD and is a adaptation of certain elements from the OZ series of books. OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL is a prequel to WIZARD and acts as an origin for the Wizard and The Wicked Witch. It's been ages since I saw it, but I don't think it took from the source material.
