She's not overly attractive though at least not in the movie plus it looks like she's supposed to be a oddball so I buy it.

Sort of a Weird Science and Beauty and the Beast thing, it seems. Didn't really detect much Frankenstein in there. Which is fine.

Since it's written by Diablo Cody, I expect it'll have some interesting stuff in it whether it works as a whole or not. Zelda Williams the director hasn't had a lot of experience and it's always tricky dealing with a movie that straddles genres, so that's where it might fall apart. I might check it out when it hits streaming.
