Considering CSI: Vegas already got cancelled, that franchise does not have a stranglehold on any network's schedule.

As for NCIS, with the cancellation of NCIS: Hawai'i, they only have the mothership show, Sydney and the upcoming Origins series now. Personally, I can do without the Younger Gibbs Chronicles aspect of the Origins series because there's no reason to suspend disbelief if he's ever in danger in this new show. We know he lives to become Older Gibbs. I would much rather have seen them renew Hawai'i. As for Sydney, I don't think anyone was expecting them to do well enough for people to want more. It was originally kind of meant just for the foreign markets and then became the US TV savior of "new" episodes when the actor's strike was going on. The Tony and Ziva spinoff they are doing is going to Paramount+.

As for the FBI franchise, I only watch the original series.

CSI and it's spinoffs were cancelled for several years, Vegas was a revival of the original. NCIS is a different franchise entirely that kind of eclipsed CSI in popularity gradually.

It is being reported that Resident Alien is unlikely to return for a 4th season on Syfy but it may move to USA Network at a drastically reduced episode budget. Article Link

NBC has cancelled Extended Family after one season. The network renewed Lopez vs. Lopez for a 3rd season.

I hope they renew it, it is really a character driven show, we don't have to see Tudyk as an alien as much.

A few friends of mine love it. They still are shocked I've not made time for it being a Firefly fan.
I will, there are, as you all know, so many choices and life can get in the way. My backlog is big.
The Big Bang Theory/og Night Court fan in me just two weeks ago binged both seasons of that revival with Melissa Rausch and was glad to hear of S3 pickup.

Resident Alien, hope you find a S4 somewhere!
