Default Wait, THAT'S how the medicine got hijacked?!

    From Giant-Sized X-Men #1:

So, wait, the whole reason the medicine got hacked was because X-Corp didn't put safeguards? How would the "profit margins" happen here, they had fourth dimensional resources! And clearly it wasn't to make it cheaper for other countries to buy, they were smuggling it into the countries that didn't buy them for free!

I think this is just Warren’s guilt working in overdrive, rather than the fundamental truth.

Warren is a good guy. He was in charge of the company that produced these medicines. And they got hijacked. He blames himself in hindsight. Of course he does. Just because he feels like it is, Doesn’t mean it’s actually his fault.

Everything in this issue is explicitly a projection of Warren’s subconscious, how he’s feeling about himself. Not objective truth.

Based on what has been established at the beginning, thanks to the techno-organic material and the mutant powers, the nation of Krakoa was entirely autark. Not only being able to produce everything required to satisfy the population's base needs, but also the medicine they are selling to the world.

They could have sold the medicine at 1 cent and it wouldn't have mattered because they money they got, that apparently made them massively rich, wasn't important. Because all that mattered was that enough of the world's population had more interest in the nation's continued existence than it's destruction.

So this can feel like a weak excuse in order to justify why Orchis could get the upper hand.

Making the heros look dumb, rather than the villains capable.

Even the accusation that there could've been safeguards in the medicines themselves is kinda janky. Like, how exactly do you prevent a chemical mixture from being altered by someone who gets a hold of it? Especially mad scientists like Dr. Stasis and MODOK. I agree that this was Maze just trying to mess with Warren, and his internalized guilt caused him to accept the premise without questioning it.

The plant gold girls did it. Just like how the figured out how to hijack the gates. All the meds are Krakoa based.

I thought that it was Xavier's shell companies that were making the drugs, along with Krakoa, and that The Hellfire Trading Company did most of the rest of the work?
Where was it revealed that Angel's company was in charge of the drugs? Was it X-Corp?

In X-Corp it's established that the production is in a laboratory set in the Savage Lands, overseen by Maddox and his dupe. Still, X-Corp is Xavier's, as far as I understood.
But, given the context, Warren - as CEO of X-Corp - might call X-Corp "his" and feel personally responsible.

DC--- we need to sit down and have a good talk about Apollo and Midnighter and your failure of using them. Especially during Pride Month.
