Too many wrinkles imo, seems like Stegman read the criticism and now is overdoing it.

Yeah, bro went from a twink to Arnold in less than month lol
I've also noticed that Stegman's beefy Cyclops is pretty similar to how Joshua Cassara draws him
Also this was edited by Tom Brevoort himself. I think he'll do Scott and Jean's relationship more justice than Jordan D. White whom I don't think was very good at his job.
Let's discuss some important stuff now. How awesome would be if they gave Cyclops a dog? What breed should it be?
I'm biased towards a german shepard, but since they are in Alaska a Malamute would fit well with the setting.

Jed Mackay X-Men seems too good to be true in general. It has checked all the boxes for me based on what we've seen and heart so far
I know, right?!
But we should not expect a stealth solo for Cyclops. Brevoort's reason to make more solo books, he felt like some team were too random, with characters present only to feel in space, basically he is talking about those stealth solos, where the writer is only really interested in one or two characters and they put whatever character is left around and/or can attract more readers.
This indicate that the team books were put together with all characters going to have specific roles and storylines.
But again, we'll have the best current Marvel writer working on Cyclops, we got a lot to look forward.
