It was a vague "several generations" and not 300 years later as previously reported.
Several is 3 or more. So 300 sounds right.

A generation is seen as every 20-30 years, although generational nomenclatures like "Gen X" go by a 9-15 year gap.

Every 20-30 years, combined with the word several, is far less than 300......Unless you equate the word "several" with 10-15.

The 3rd one's just goofy/bad. I'm pretty sure it turned a lot of people off from watching any further sequels, back in the day........I'd suggest checking the 4th film out, though. It's connected to the lousy 3rd film, but has some cool elements to it and is a lot darker. You just have to stomach the beginning, where they recap what went on in that crappy 3rd film. You also have to have a little bit of suspension of disbelief with the physical interaction between humans & apes. I get that the apes were domesticated to the point of being weak-willed, but considering their physical advantages there's just no way the apes could get run over by humans like that.

Skip movie #5 like the plague.

Although Burton's film is entirely separate from any of the other movies, it's actually decent and holds up.

Escape From the Planet of the Apes was intended as a comedy, with a few elements of satire. Once you accept that, you can enjoy it as such.

Escape is awesome. Catches you off guard with the tone change then shifts on you again!

Kingdom over performed both domestic and overseas forecasts.

    $58M and $132M, respectively.

Decent word of mouth is now strong as theaters took more showings the later the weekend went.

This ape movie might have some good legs!
