It's all in Diana's mind, it's a coping mechanism to deal with isolation. Neither Cheetah or Steve are actually there.

Why it's the Perez versions? King just likes to reference character histories regardless of continuity

It's been a long time since the WW book had both... beautiful art AND classic designs! It's nice to have them both briefly for just this one (or two) page which I'm pretty sure is a dream sequence meaning the classic designs won't last long, unfortunately.

Waid continue to do bad by Wonder Woman. But to be fair he did that for all of the heroes except Batman and Superman.
