Default Spider-Society series coming from Alex Segura and Scott Godlewski

Marvel has a press release about a new ongoing series.

Marvel Comics has revealed a new series, spinning out of the Edge of Spider-Verse comic book series, is launching this August called Spider-Society. It’s headlined by Alex Segura and Scott Godlewski.

“We’ve had such a blast building toward and teasing SPIDER-SOCIETY in the pages of Web of Spider-Man and Edge of Spider-Verse,” Segura shared. “I hope readers enjoy the amazing roster of Spider-Heroes we’re bringing together to face off a new, but eerily familiar threat. Scott Godlewski’s the perfect choice to bring our Spider-Verse adventure to life, and his take on the Spider-Heroes, from Spider-Man 2099 to Spider-Ramen, is spot-on. Readers can expect a wild multiversal ride full of surprises and fun character moments, evoking the Spider-Verse tales they love. August can’t come fast enough!”

It makes sense to have an ongoing about the Spider-Verse. It didn't quite work with Web Warriors, but a team series is a bit less organic and the creative team has worked on the characters before in various preludes.

Weird Across the Spider-Verse tie-in. Should have launched sooner (or later for Beyond the Spider-Verse, I guess). The "Spider Society" were antagonists to Miles in AtSV.

I like Alex Segura but these types of titles never seem to work and I'm all Spider-Versed out.

I'm just waiting for a proper Arana solo by him after his bits with her in the Edge of Spider-Verse revivals and the novel he wrote costarring Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099.

^^^I've never even even been Spider-Versed IN.
This is basically the exact opposite of what I want in a Spidey book.

Agreed! He is being featured in the current arc of the Spider-Man Unlimited Infinity Comic at least.

They can produce this with lots of Spider-Heroes but simply having Ben be a Spider-Hero (pick your moniker, Scarlet Spider or 'A' Spider-man like Miles and Miguel are) is just too much.

    Pass.

How was that novel? I was intrigued by the pairing, but for some reason I don't tend to seek out "comic book novels." I guess I just miss the pictures too much!

You were Spider-Man then. You and Peter had agreed on it. But he came back right when you started feeling comfortable.
You know what it means when he comes back

I strongly recommend Segura's novel Secret Identity, as well - it's a murder mystery set in the seedy 1970s comic book industry. Great book.
