‘X-MEN 97’ Season 2 is currently in the editing stage.

Brad Winderbaum has confirmed that the series “will have a new head writer for Season 3”

I love hearing how far they are with season 2. Hopefully it means it will hit in 2025 because I couldn't possibly wait until 2026.

And I'm very curious to find out who the new showrunner will be from season 3, they will certainly have huge shoes to fill.

It's kind of funny to think that season 2 is going to be heavy on Apocalypse when season 2 of WaTXM was also going to be heavily focused on Apocalypse.

I'm guessing one of the current writers will get a promotion to a head writer, most likely Charley Feldman or Anthony Sellitti. It's a bit worrisome, since IMO the episodes written solely by DeMayo (1,2 and 5) are also some of the best written ones.

It is what it is. Its either that or season 2 will include the series finale. At least we got confirmation that they will in fact do a season 3

I guess you guys already picked up on it a couple weeks ago when episode 5 aired, but I just re-watched the first episode and Jean/Maddy's trek into Gyrich's mind and her then being sidelined by those dystopian visions hits different when you know what's gonna happen. Hearing that opening chant from 'Happy Nation' during that sequence is sooooo eerie. Upon first watch 9 weeks ago, I was just impressed at the other-worldliness of that animation sequence, because we never had anything quite like it on TAS. Now it's a gut-wrench in addition to that.

'Happy Nation' has really become the X-Men's 'Rains of Castamere'. :-P
Take my dreams, childish and weak at the seams

I hope that a head writer will be new because Feldman and Sellitti's work was lower quality than DeMayo.

Episode Count per character (I think its fairly accurate give or take 1/2 characters and not counting cameos at end of episodes for Storm/Jean/Xavier/Magneto/Jubilee)
    Cyclops - 8/10 episodes
    Storm - 6/10 episodes
    Jean - 6/10 episodes
    Rogue - 7/10 episodes
    Wolverine - 8/10 episodes
    Beast - 8/10 episodes
    Jubilee - 6/10 episodes
    Morph - 8/10 episodes
    Magneto - 7/10 episodes
    Madelyn - 4/10 episodes
    Bishop - 3/10 episodes
    Nightcrawler - 5/10 episodes
    Xavier - 3/10 episodes
    Gambit - 4/10 episodes
    Sunspot - 6/10 episodes

Did you intentionally leave out Gambit and Sunspot?

He's more likely to appear here than he is in his own movie anytime soon considering it's been in development hell for years.
