Looking like members for a 1980s Prince spin-off band (not that I'm complaining).

I kind of wish some comic would embrace her occasional role as a trainer and encourager of training to make her code name embrace a double meaning - that like the Hindu Shiva, she’s a creator as much as a destroyer, and thus goes out of her way to encourage others to develop their arts as she has her own.
She doesn’t have to be Miss Kill Everyone In The Room if they’re either uninteresting civilians who aren’t her target or if she smells a greater challenge further down the line, or even simply finds potential in someone.

There's a Shiva story in next week's Batman: Urban Legends #3:
I just noticed how similar Cheshire's outfit was to original Lady Shiva's first appearance. I wonder how that happened....
DC viewing their Asian female characters as interchangeable.
-
Purple and green are usually the colours used for villains or antagonists. Shiva is wearing both in her first appearance. Cheshire's real name is Jade so it makes sense to give her green and they both debuted a decade apart to serve different stories. As seen in the scans above, Shiva's wardrobe quickly shifted to black and red while Cheshire has always been green. Whilst, DC does have problems with it's depiction of Asian female characters, this is one case where I can see it as a coincidence.

Shiva looks good in red and black :).

For some reason I like Shiva a lot but don't care about Marvel's Elektra. Probably because Shiva in Knightfall and Birds of Prey is morally gray and has a sense of humor while Elektra is a bad girl popular because reasons. How my mind works I don't get it myself.
