In one of the Mid 90s X-books I read there was this little side story with a bunch of government spooks, a fat nurse and some skinny guy strapped to a chair or a medical gurney with everybody talking about how he was the only hope for mankind or something. It was supposed to be forshadowing, but I don't recall it ever going anywhere. Anyone remember what this was and if anything became of it story wise?
