Thoughts and prayers to you, Ghost. I'm sorry you have to deal with all of this. I went through something similar a while back when my mom had to get heart surgery for a bit, so I can understand how you're feeling. We're sending our best wishes and we're here for you if you need to talk.
You're a good man, Ghost. Don't ever forget that.

Well, you know, we all have to sooner or later. Time makes orphans of us all.

Like I said, don't worry about me. People tend to underestimate me - and that's partly my fault for encouraging them - but as dysfunctional as I can be, I do manage and adapt.

Ghost, I am so, so sorry for what you and your family are going through.
As has been said, if you need anywhere to vent, we’re here and thinking of you.
-
Thoughts and Prayers out for you and your family, friend. Dealing with this kind of loss is never easy and I'm sorry that you have to through, so we're here if you need support or just an outlet.

Welp.
I'm not going get to into it because politics etc.
But...
I don't know about you Beadle, I for one quite enjoyed having a prolonged period of peace at the Irish Border. What a shame.
I really hope no one dies. This was pretty much always where we were going to end up since June 2016. Inescapably.
And now we have inept clown with delusions of grandeur in place to try and engineer peace for the next... 3 and a bit years.
****.

I know. It’s tragic. I remember Northern Ireland in the 80s. We do not want that back.
And it’s not grandeur. It’s competence. He has delusions of competence.

It's so depressing
I am coping by blasting Zombie by The Cranberries.

But that just makes you think of Dolores. :(

Indeed.
The Bad Wolves cover of it, that she was meant to guest on when she died on the day scheduled for recording, is also really fucking good.

It's a bit more angry in tone which suits my current mood a bit better.
Thanks, you guys. Honestly, the one I'm worried about the most is my father.
I'm... emotionally resilient by now. Due to my neurodevelopmental disorder, entropy has always been an old enemy of mine. That means I know how to prepare myself for loss, whenever I see it coming. It will be difficult and stressful and there will be pain, but I think I can abide with this.
But dad... Well, he's an old-school kind of guy. "Stiff upper lip" type dude, doesn't like opening up and talking about his feelings. Also, he almost certainly has some form of mental disorder of his own that has gone undiagnosed because that just wasn't done during his generation. He's been at mom's side this whole time and we can all tell it's taking a serious emotional and mental toll on him. But unless he chooses to accept that, we can't do anything for him.
This is a guy who starts talking to himself if he's alone in a room for over half an hour. I really don't know if he'll be able to handle life as a widower. :(
My best wishes and condolences for you and your family. Not much else that can be said in a situation such as this.

Caught up with Fire Force.
It's doing a great job of just building up the despair of the situation as everything just gets worse.
And having a large section of a chapter be in [spoil]"live-action"[/spoil] was surprisingly unnerving.

It's been an extremely novel take on the apocalypse.
Okubo does composition of stuff like this so well.

Hey, Ghost. I'm really very sorry to hear about your situation, with your mother dying. There's little I can say that others haven't already said, here. I only hope you're taking care of yourself during this time (well, at all times, but especially now). And I'm glad you had that trip to see her - it sounds like it had a lot of impact, in a number of ways and not all of them sad.
And, as others have said, there are people here who will listen. I'm not on as much, myself, but I'm still here a fair chunk of the time.
I wish you all the best.

Could have really done without the thumpingly direct holocaust parallels along the way though.
Weird series, frankly bewildered that it became one of the largest anime properties around.
