A recast Tchalla article got posted on Yahoo entertainment. The more noise we make the better for the long-term at least. And as time goes by seeing more and more noise. Such a good sight!
Time is on our side brother. We just gotta keep the faith.
Based on all this recent convo, I'm actively working up a STORM solo pitch. it could be a mini series or the opening arc of a STORM ongoing but I'm definitely doing it.
Personally, I don't think it's good for either franchise for her and T'Challa to be linked anymore (I never agreed with the pairing for a host of reasons) but i agree with the Storm fans that she IS, possibly more than Captain Marvel, Marvel's top shelf female superhero. She deserves her own Storm-verse, her own rogues gallery and her own space that can only be occupied by her.
In short, the kind of ROCK-SOLID standing in the Marvel Universe that Wonder Woman enjoys in the DCU.
I think I may have something that will please her die-hard fans while also severing her ties to Wakanda (except as a thing from her past).
The X office is... not an easy sell... so, I don't have high hopes but I will be attempting a pitch on this in the next couple months. For real.
Go get em' Redjack!

From what I'm seeing with regards to the recast of T'Challa, E-Man is the most vocal person about this topic and I hope this comes to fruition now that he's getting the word out, but, looking at the historical trend of the BP franchise both in the comics and in live-action, we are bound to be disappointed one way or the other.
Please don't give me hope!
The X-fandom and fans turned writers have been looking for an excuse to make Storm queer for years. Having her together with Shuri and getting that sweet sweet satisfaction of rubbing T'challa's nose in it? That'd make their day.
Lol I doubt they’d see it that way because it would mean having to share one of their prominent mutants with the non-mutant side of the MU. The X-Office doesn’t like to share.

Sometimes I wonder if the X-Office feel the same way some X-Fans do about the greater Marvel Universe :p.

I think that would make Storm and Shuri look bad and would work out for BP. I mean, let's say she hooks up with Shuri and T'Challa gets a new LI. There would be know whay ever that BP and Storm would ever get back together after she hooks up with Shuri. As a matter of fact, T'Challa would probably tell them they need to move and can't stay in the palace.

That’s maybe how he should react, but it’s more likely Marvel would write it so they kick him out of the palace

Shuri is black. I honestly think Shuri would get the same blowback as BP: "Why are they hooking them up.....because they are black?! Storm transcends color!!!!!!"
When you think about it, Storm is a serial swirler. Outside T'Challa, I think all her romances, verified, alternate reality, or assumed, have been with non-black characters.

That was a great article. I would definitely go with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as T'Challa.
JDW is a no go, for me.

People would look at a Shuri and Storm relationship ad pedo-ish and Storm as some groomer..

That’s the fate of most black heroes in ensemble teams. Typically they’re the only black person around so when it comes time to give them a romantic subplot they don’t have many options other than to pair them with someone non-black. Obviously that’s not always the case, but it happens pretty often. This is kinda counterbalanced by how most solo black heroes have black love interests, like T’Challa (even before Storm entered the picture), Black Lightning, and Blade. With notable exceptions of course. But yea Storm probably won’t ever have a black love interest that’s not T’Challa unless Death becomes an anti-hero or something lol.

It's a long-shot but...the best of luck Red J.
By the Goddess' will, to your mind and through your pen, written on the X-Office's heart.
So mote it be.

Funny enough I was about to share the same article.
The calls to recast T'Challa are becoming mainstream.
There were two options that I dreaded for T’Challa’s character in the MCU moving forward: 1. They would relegate him to just being a background character (a la Paul Walker from the “Fast & Furious” franchise) or 2. they’ll kill him off. The first option would be so disappointing, but that latter option would be even worse. T’Challa was already presumed dead in the movie, then he came back to life. Then the real-life actor passes away, only for the studios to potentially kill off his fictional character again? Anyone who even entertains this thought needs to examine just why they’re so comfortable with emotional trauma porn of Black death. We’ve already had enough of that in real life with the pandemic and police brutality, and the last thing we need is for that to be reflected in our fictional superheroes.
Chadwick Boseman’s portrayal of T’Challa was significant because he brought to life an image that many Black boys and men rarely see — an advanced, prosperous world led by a strong, intelligent and capable Black king. The character was originally created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby to be an uplifting anti-stereotype during the 1960s. T’Challa was the very first Black superhero in mainstream comics; he is literally Black history.
If Marvel Studios removes T’Challa, then that would be at the expense of the Black boys who looked up to him. Black boys do not deserve to have their hero pushed off to the sidelines or worse. No child deserves that. Black Lives Matter even on the screen. I would like to believe that it is the fantasy of the character of T’Challa that helps us all escape the painful realities of the real world.

That's an excerpt from the article.
It's just flat out wrong to shut down the character because the actor playing him as passed on. Taking away one of the most prominent black superhero in the world isn't the way to honor Boseman.
