DC Comics and Warner Bros. are adding a live-action Swamp Thing series to its newly-titled DC Universe streaming service. Aquaman director James Wan will be one of the executive producers for the one-hour drama.
When CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.
Interesting if it happens will have to give the DC streaming service a try.

I can be patient. I'll get eventual the Blu-ray if it's any good.

Here's the official logo and a tweet from Wan

"Gothic romance" and focusing on the Abby/Swamp Thing relationship is exactly the direction they should take this property! Looking forward to it!

I'd rather see a man thing series. Man thing creates portals and burns people who fear him. Stick him with the thunderbolts like the short-lived Luke cage series.

Afterall with the success of Shape of Water, this could be nice.

Yes! After seeing Shape of Water I though "a Swamp Thing adaptation should be kinda like that."

The description makes the series more about Abby than the titular character.

I could see that potentially getting around having to focus or show Swamp Thing consistently to save on the CG budget, assuming he's all CGI here, and maybe lean into him more as a distant horror figure as Abigail acts as the audiences POV character.
But, judging by Wan's tweet, I expect we will still get plenty of Swampy himself .

Great news.
Swamp Thing is a fascinating character and such a television show should be great. And hopefully make me forget the Swamp Thing movies.:p
Jokes aside,i think this potentially can be really good, especially if the stories are similiar to Alan Moore run in te Swamp Thing comic book.

James Wan give me some confidence but this being on DCs streaming service make me question the money that will be put into it. I'll wait and see on Titans but set photos have looked pretty cheap but I'm still optimistic.
DC must love what he did with Aquaman if they gave him another property

I blame the Titans set photos on the fact that none of the team is in their proper costumes yet, compared to stuff like Robin and Hawk and Dove's costumes, which look much more higher budget.
