Oh for Pete's sake, of course America will be okay.
Trump's been in office for almost 4 years and with the exception of COVID and it's affect on the economy, we still have the same problems we've always had.
The reason liberals hate Trump is because he's not pandering to their causes. If you live in Texas, like I do, most people are happier than they've been since Reagan was in office.
Let the name-calling begin.

I'm mostly a lurker here myself but I have to ask, do you read this thread? Because, "because he's not pandering to their causes" makes it seem like you don't. I mean, you have multiple people who don't even consider themselves liberal, who dislike Trump.
Plus, I don't think name calling is allowed. Moderators, and all.

This is decidedly not true, even if Trump implemented every longstanding left wing policy objective, I'm pretty sure we would all still hate him. He's just a slimy, repulsive guy and anyone with half a brain knows not to trust people like him even if, especially if, they happen to be saying things you agree with. Hell, Trump himself has spent most of his life trying to ingratiate himself with the mostly liberal upper crust of New York society, and they've pretty much told him to **** off at every turn. The only reason he rebranded himself as a conservative is because inbred red staters are the only ones dumb enough to believe all of his BS.

Is that why Texas is actually competitive this year? I mean Trump is still likely to win it, but the fact that it's remotely close implies a good chunk of Texans disagree with you.

Trump is trying to finish what Reagan started. The impoverishment of working people and the complete control of the Oligarchy.
-
Trump has caused environmental damage that will take decades to clear. If stopped.
He plots to have his rotten kids take his place ( making an modern monarchy.)
And America is losing influence in the world.
On Trumps watch China has begun to bought movie studios from
America. Meaning said movies from
Those studios now make China, money.
Example: Legendary, that made the kick mass Godzilla movies. He is now Chinese Godzilla.
And yeah under Trumps watch America’s homeless rate is the highest in the first world, there is housing trouble of epic proportions and thee are threats of more. ( I myself am seeking a new apartment. Due to my slum lords trying to make a profit out of this shitty place. )

Trump and Reagan* are both racists who let people die on their watch to a deadly disease outbreak so...yeah I can imagine why people comfortable with Ronald are comfortable with Donald.
* Some might object to Reagan being called a racist because for some bizarre reason he still has popularity but he's on tape as being hatefully racist in a private conversation with Nixon (https://www.npr.org/2019/07/31/747041525/historian-discusses-recording-of-reagans-racists-comments-made-to-nixon)

In my research Reagan hated hippies and the LGBT community hence why Aids murdered them
So much.
Yeah he is in hell too. Plus his military efforts against Russia led to the Taliban ( they left the freedom
Fighters to their own devices, so they projected on ya.)

I believe the country can come back even if it has to endure four more years of this. It'll just be further in the toilet than it otherwise has to be, and the cleanup will be longer. But I still believe it would be able to come back. I will however lose all faith in the basic general intelligence of our populace if he wins. I say this even as someone who wouldn't qualify as a liberal, not anymore. I'm far more moderate in today's climate, but Trump is just the most openly corrupt, thin-skinned, whining piece of **** I've ever seen in this office and it just astounds me he has supporters. Much more than that some of these people actually near worship him. Its quite disturbing. I say this even with those in my extended family who support the guy. I still love them, I just don't get them in this regard.
My gut says he loses. My gut also says its going to be too close for comfort. But I'm trying to prepare myself for the event he actually wins and we have to endure more of this.

I feel we will vote in a land slide. He will call bs and the judges will decide our fate then.
THAT is my problem. THAT is the fix he did on purpose. Given Trump is pres, crooked soulless GOP-senate, and Supreme has two people appointed by Trump. Yeah.
That’s how Democracy dies.

If he loses, close or otherwise, he will definitely call BS and try to do everything he can to draw out the ultimate result and not concede. However I don't feel he'll get his way. If he has to be dragged out kicking and screaming, that'll be his prerogative and he'll go down in history as the only exiting president to have to be escorted off the premises in shame. But no way do I feel he manages to defy the result, despite how much he's tried to sow the seeds of distrust in the legitimacy of the democratic process. I can't bring myself to believe the rest of the right in Washington has fallen that far as to actually fight to reward such shameless antics to such a degree at the expense of democracy. I hope in retrospect it doesn't turn out I was actually naive.

The Right has been corrupt for years. The reason Obama did not do enough was this same GOP senate did everything in their power to cut his halls off. This clown they adore. Why? He favors money is white and yeah.
God I hate my life.

I don't think another Trump victory would be the end of America as we know it so much as a terrifying revelation that this was what America was beneath the surface all along.
I think it is more accurate to say that the Trump presidency and what we are seeing from the Republicans is the last hurrah of an America that needs to die.
In spite of Conservative insistence that they are not racist, there is a fear I see among white conservatives that white people will soon no longer have a huger population than all other races put together and that greatly feeds into Trump's success.
From what I've been told, the Republican party was looking to change it's image specifically to deal with realities like increasing non-white populations and the increasing diversity of religious beliefs (and lack of religious beliefs) among many other things such as Republicans more and more being science deniers as scientific knowledge increases and being perceived as bigots as more groups become socially accepted. Then along comes Trump, playing on White fear, the most ignorant aspects of a religion he doesn't actually believe at all, as well as playing to the scientific and social ignorance of a core group of people increasingly relegated to and becoming part of the past. But enough of them are still alive to have that last hurrah and glory in the worst aspects of the past. Suddenly the Republican party is trapped into the Dinosaur brigade that follows Trump. They kind of have little choice. The long term disaster to their party is irrelevant to them because they will not get elected NOW if they go against him. Well, now being 2016. We may see rats abandoning a sinking ship if he loses.
But I don't think it's going to be the end of America as we know it if he wins because the ultimate left wing backlash will be even more extreme when it comes. That is not to say Trump can't cause horrible damage in the meantime.
I just hope he has lost enough of the swing vote that he loses. If there is only one good thing about the pandemic, it is that his abysmal and self-serving handling of it will be the thing that causes him to lose. Oh, I know that sounds like a horrible thing to say considering the deaths but consider how much worse it can get with four more years of his not dealing with it and making decisions purely for political gain.
