"In-story, Sue apparently felt that the team needed a change given what they had previously been through and thought the new costumes would help to provide that."

I wonder, can Sue make laser beams using her bending light ability?

Leaser is actually an acronym for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation. Without radiation, I don't think it's a laser. There's the possibility of using her force field as a lens to focus the light like we used to do to fry ants, but since the field itself is invisible, I doubt that would work. Personally I'd stay away from this as her having more conscious control over light could be seen as adding an illusion casting ability to her tool box.
Johnny might be able to do it.

Thanks, that makes sense.
With the film rights back to Marvel (or Disney), I expect more toys and other stuff so a clear Sue Storm Lego figure is required. There is NO valid argument against this. None.
.....Even though there were some flashback moments for her; still it's good to see Susan Storm-Richards within the current MARVEL 2-IN-ONE Series.
Loved the way she was drawn by Cheung. The way Ben described her in his speech and her asking Ben to look after Johnny before Secret Wars was perfect.
