2022 marks 30, with a three, years old for the music that dropped in 1992. 35 years old for the joints that dropped in 1987. That shit is wild cause them was the days for me, a whole bunch of potnas, classmates, peers and at this point a gang of grandparents too. I remember people talking about shit from '30 years ago then, and they were talkin' about the 60's.
Anyway, not all here but some notable ones. Also much of this music reflected a period post the LA riots.

Soundtrack to the Motion Picture Juice
N2Deep / Back to the Hotel
Soundtrack to the Motion Picture Deep Cover
Dr. Dre / The Chronic
A pretty solid 20 of the bigger records I personally came across, there were some others but back then 2 things- there was a flood of pretty solid content and these were the days of 12.99 - 14.99 CD's depending on your outlet but also this was still the cassette tape heavy days which made the 'dub' a strong and viable option. Access is a weird concept these days but decisions had to be made back when over this stuff.
A common belief that Dr. Dre's The Chronic is one of the greatest Hip-Hop albums ever produced and that's not just on a sonic level. As wild as the content was on this record, there was only 2 videos made with 1 in limited rotation (a diss video) but the strength of G-Thang constantly on the radio made this one the biggest release on behalf of most parties involved. Fast forward 30 years later Dr. Dre as problematic as he has been over the years, is going to perform at the Superbowl Halftime show in Los Angeles. Several cold ass jams and dope features were part of The Chronic but I was always partial to RBX and Kurupt's records. Damn shame RBX he didn't quite ride this onto much more of a solid career, kind of like Lady of Rage but even she continued to work on TV after.
Still does it for me though.

I forgot about Paris, I know I heard that album, I feel I did an album review of it in High School...
Pharcyde, raise your hand if you thought those guys were gonna be huge acts... *raises.
I didn't get down with G Rap til 4,5,6. Thas what I'm sayin, some of this old stuff just got past me and I never made time to go back until very recently on a few of them.

KRS put that record out to show people that he hadn’t gone soft and that he could still rip MC’s apart
Could y'all stop posting shit after 1999, kthxbai.
The Bonus. Lots of Pac records are hard and this one is near the top, I love it but it's here for mostly the video with the end turn. At the time, 30 years ago we knew this new record was coming but this was the first single and it hit hard out the gate. Set a tone for the whole album perfectly.

This here was the gut punch man, a really dour song, even worse when you consider other dude on the record. After Digital Underground 2Pac never kept much good company. Song fuckin' knocks still though, it even beat in the movie theater when it got played during the open. Shoutout to the Star Trek sample placement that we all went nuts for too. I swore for years after, the line must have came from an episode of Thundercats I never got to see.
