Cool! Another CBR article discussing Cat/Tigra. This one is about that empathic powers she developed as the Cat, that were rarely used after she was transformed to Tigra. Note that they still exist, and would be handy in a fight -- especially if her opponent had a hidden weakness.
Tigra is so underdeveloped you could essentially tell any kinds of stories you want with her. Smooth out and modernize all the cat-people nonsense and their world, there's tons of potential.
Greer Nelson should not had been made into Tigra to begin with. Tigra should had been made into a stand alone character. Tony Isabella(Tigra's creator) should have kept the character to himself instead of selling the idea to Marvel. Imagine if Tigra had been an Indy character instead of a Marvel character?

Sure but then probably even less people one would care about her then.

Marvel could had placed Greer in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man as a reoccurring ally whose a member of NYPD. If Greer had been placed in Spider-Man's world, she would not been made into Tigra. This might had eliminated the notion that she was Marvel's version of Catwoman whose a anti-heroine than a pure heroine. Spider-Man x The Cat might had made for an interesting dynamic....

Supposedly, the Cat did not do well in sales and her book was cancelled. Marvel did not know what to do with her, so, they came up with changing her into Tigra as a way to generate some Monster interest.
Are there any werebeast characters in other stories you could use as a template for how best to handle Tigra?
Not really because she lacks the inner conflict most were-animals stories mine. She seems pretty chill when she pops up in other books.
You could do something like Grimm where she has to walk between two different communities. Maybe she is a liason between the cops and supernatural community? Maybe the Cat-people are more involved than we know?
Yeah, but Spidey later got Black Cat!
The Black Cat was originally intended to be a Spider-Woman villain. The Cat series did do so well because Marvel failed to put a good writer to do her series, like Gerry Conway. I never liked Greer as a monster character as it never fit her character. The Black Cat(IMO) should move on from Spider-Man/Peter Parker and branch off to other places like Hawkeye, Daredevil, or Moon knight. I felt that Greer might had found a place in the world of Spider-Man. If Greer wasn't made into Tigra, Hell Cat and Black Cat would not exist as we know them today.
Regarding the Cat People, imagine the idea of having Tigra, Puma, Feral (Maria Callasantos), The Beast, and Thornn working alongside Spidey against Kraven and Sabretooth's control over the Cat People. This would raise Tigra's profile in a positive light. But I want to see the day when Greer and Tigra are separated from each other. This would finally allow Greer Nelson to become "The Cat" once again in Spider-Man's world as a Police Officer whose Peter's close friend.

Tigra is able to change into the Greer Grant Nelson persona so....we could still get some stories with Greer as the focus....if Marvel was interested in doing that.

Tigra has a role in chip and dale rescue rangers movie
[spoil]even saving chip and dale later. She is joined by a dc hero! (so yes a marvel and dc hero in the same movie!)[/spoil]
