I got kind of excited when I saw this brief image in the beginning of a movie on Netflix this week, like it was part of the production titles ... it was after the Sony Logo and the Columbia pictures logos and I just about flew out of my seat and had to take a picture.

It was at the start of the movie "Uncharted", but after it played out I realized the image was for Sony Playstation (probably part of the Marvel vs Capcom game series).
I was really disappointed.

I don't blame you. that looks a little too much like Doom's mask. I wonder if Disney/Marvel sees that they just may start talking to lawyers!
-
Oh I'm certain that it is Doom's mask. Remember Sony still technically owns the Fantastic Four franchise, and Dr Doom appears quite prominently in several Playstation games over the last few years. The image flashed by very quickly but there were other characters that were from the Marvel line appearing there too.
Does anybody else scrutinize the Marvel opening sequence where they flash through scenes from movies and comics panels before they all come together in the Marvel logo, looking for Dr Doom? I know I do. I've not yet gone so far as to go through it frame by frame though. A couple of times I thought I saw a Doom armor but I think it was Juggernaut.
::sigh:::

That's funny I thought the same thing when I've been to the Doctor Strange and Thor movies this year. Doctor Strange is on Disney Plus so I should try stopping it during the opening and check it out.

Very similar to Doom's mask.

They put Doom in the preview image/thumbnail and in a few scenes here.

Here's the latest on the most recent Doom bust 3D painting. It is mostly done at this point except for the fur cape. I'm not going to paint the armor filigree in gold like the others I've seen, but I did add some silver highlights. The last bit to do is the cape, which right now is just primer black. I like the black, for two reasons - 1) everyone else I've seen paint this did it in gray or white, and 2) it's ominous. I'd like to add some kind of gray or brown ticking to the fur though, like real fur or as close as I can get to it.

I thought I'd ask the board:
Keep the cape mostly black?
Go with white or gray?
-
I think the hardest one to get right would be doing the fur trim correctly. You could leave it back and it would be OK I think. It would be hard to get the lighter fur accurate because they can be light and medium shades of brown in it.
I like the black accents on the armor

That's pretty cool. I didn't know they did trailers for the comics these days! Good idea.

How about some new Doom 2099 art by Pat Broderick? He hasn't worked at Marvel for a while but he does have various works of his loaded to his FB page.

I like black, myself. I think it looks more dramatic, but not over the top as it would with white. Yes, I know. As if that armor isn't over the top. LOL
EXCELLENT painting! I love the details like the gradient on DOOM.

I think he's in his 70s. He has such great detailed style IMO. There are a lot of his other works on his photos section of his Facebook page. I forgot how many other Marvel titles he did.
