“THE LAST AVENGER” PART 4: DESPERATE MEASURES
Captain Marvel had 24 hours to kill five Avengers — and she’s dangerously close to failing. Carol’s plan was always flawed, but as she nears the endgame, those flaws are becoming fatal. As Vox Supreme’s true plans for five dead Avengers emerge, it’s more important than ever that Carol not fail today.
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99
Isn't that variant anachronistic? Gwen was already dead before that costume debuted.[/QUOTE]
Is Gwen imagining herself as Carol? And visualizing herself with the Ms. Marvel costume of all things :P?
I wonder which Avengers Carol is struggling to finish. Probably Panther. Maybe Cap?

Is Panther still the chairman/leader? I can definitely see it being Panther
why would she struggle to kill anyone she just plot armor steamrolled through thor
I didn't think she'd be just hunting them for 4 issues straight.

Funny how they can get away with that. While the reference is obvious, that symbol is very generic. Of course, Adam Warlock has worn a similar logo and nowadays it would bring to mind Power Rangers as well, though they didn't exist until 1993 so that's just a coincidence.

That's only a cover bc Kelly Thompson was SHOCKED it wasn't and I think she went to bat for it.

THAT is absolutely stupid. Carol should've been told Mar-Vell was dead in time for her to attend his funeral!

It has been noted to me that even though Carol was hanging out with the X-Men for a time and were present for Mar-vell's funeral, they decided not to tell her after the Oedipus rape baby incident with Marcus and Rogue's harassment towards her out of not wanting to psychologically traumatize her further. Not sure when they would have talked about this to her though.

i remember starlin basically retconning out carol from mar-vell's backstory
i wonder if it was mainly because of oedipus rape

"All-New, All-Different" I see...
Was that the first time the ANAD phrase got mentioned in dialogue, instead of just as an editorial adjective?
I just happened to read this story today. They mentioned that they weren't able to get in touch with her. Since the X-Men were there, the timing seems odd. I always have to wonder if they just forgot her in the Marvel Graphic Novel and this is just an attempt to address that.
