What a better way to start the year but by celebrating some of the best moments from the Emerald Archer?

(Hint: Lemire/Sorrentino's run is still best).

it's definitely in my top 3!
happy new year all!
Happy new year :D
I have the deluxe but i haven't read it yet.
Happy New Year to the Emerald Archer and all his fans .
May the year be on point for Ollie and his Arrow family :).
Does anyone think that Green Arrow not being a strong fighter adds on to him being an underdog? I noticed that he gets his arse handed to him at times.

Those kind of things can change from writer to writer. For example Batman is invincible at hand to hand combat sometimes, and sometimes a thug sneaks behind him and takes him out... lol those kind of thing are always inconsistent.

i like the idea that ollie is skilled enough to go toe to toe with deathstroke and prometheus...
I don't think Ollie should be a terrible fighter, but he might come off more average compared to the top tier combatants of the DCU, though with his bow and arrow he's always liable to fight differently from them.
Dinah's probably trained him a little.

I’ve been reading it the last couple of weeks, about half way through.
It’s very good...but must admit the thought had occurred a time or three that Frank Miller ought to get a share of the writing credits: it’s got a lot of similarities to the Frank Miller Daredevil run.

yeah, there would a lot more whose better than oliver. but hopefully his trick arrows (and or technology) would give him the edge when it came to justice league level threats.
(man, i just remembered justice league: the nail. poor oliver).
Latest issue was fun. Digging the power boost of Count Vertigo.

This would be a pretty interesting team-up :).
Neat design for Ollie. Reminds me of his first Injustice design.

Yeah, I hated when Winnick made him a ninja. It kind of ruined his combat dynamic with Black Canary and made him just overall more generic.

Now this team up would be fantastic!

I believe Ollie should be a competent enough fighter. Not at Batman's levels or not even Dinah's but he should be skilled.
People often forget that archery is an extremely complex art by itself and becoming an expert of it automatically developes your strength, speed and precision so Ollie being the World's Greatest Archer should make him easily above an average fighter.
I believe Winick did good with that aspect during his run but I'm not necessarily claiming for such an overly-efficient Ollie to return.

Fair enough, I think I'm more married with the idea of his heart being in the right place, but beyond his skill with a bow, he's mostly got to rely on gimmicks. Ollie notoriously talks a bigger game than he can back up and his fighting ability reflecting that makes sense. About the only place his checks can cash is archery, in which he is second-to-none (despite his claims of others surpassing him).

I think he should be decent for a crime-fighter as far as fighting capability, but would probably have to go for cheap shots or cheat to beat the more remarkable hand-to-hand fighters of the DCU.
I like Ollie as a competent hand to hand fighter. NOT a martial artist legend he winded up as in Winick's run.
He's the bowmaster.
Leave Connor as the martial arts master.

I'm good with that. He watches enough boxing to have a mean right hook!

Not giving something like this my money. Sorry, Dinah has been built up so well over this series that she WOULD go to jail for Ollie if she could rather than betray him. This feels like the writers themselves are doing this under protest let alone her.

The Dinah who has been constantly insulting and disminishing Ollie at everytime over the course of this volume?
Sure...
Do i need to say don't worry guys ? lol This is Green Arrow, he will have relauch. :) Nowadays no title goes on until 60 issues. They flood the market with new '' issue # 1 s ''
I'm a trade waiter so don't care :D as long as they don't cancel the deluxe Green Arrow line without finishing.

Tsundre reactions are easily trumped by loyalty and devotion.
I'm a Hey Arnold fan, believe me, I've seen much worse.
So some pages of Doomsday Clock#9 came out and, well...
[spoil]Apparently Ollie and Dinah are still together[/spoil]
Um....'kay. Guess what's coming up doesn't go the way we all think

Throw in the Wonder Year and you get a great taste of Grell's Oliver Queen - and damn, Shado is such a great character....

Yup this and Lemire Weapon Clans is my favorite GA stories to read.
I read some spoilers from Green Arrow#50 (though I haven't seen the full issue yet).
[spoil]It's less of a break-up between Ollie and Dinah, more of a "see you later". Dinah lets Ollie go, tells him he needs to run to stay a step ahead of her bosses, and she hopes they reunite (and according to Doomsday Clock#9, they do) She also is beginning to remember their marriage from pre-flashpoint days and she wants to build towards that life again.[/spoil]
Relaunch/Reset on it's way. Didio felt the current volume had come to it's natural end and he wants Oliver to be a bigger part of the DC Universe
https://www.newsarama.com/44191-green-arrow-relaunch-reset-coming-from-dc.html
Hope they finally put Garth Ennis on the title.
Mind you, Didio's words about Ollie being a bigger part of the DCU would mean that Ennis would make Ollie mock all the other characters from the DCU (aside from Superman who Ennis actually likes).
... Which I would be completely okay with considering this is Ollie we're talking about. Bring Ennis on board already!

A relaunch seemed inevitable, I guess I'm just curious how long it will be until we see it.
(I honestly don't even connect Green Lanterns and Morrison's Green Lantern. I think more people would associate it with Hal N' Pals, even though that was basically a Corps. book).
The TV show is ending.

it overstayed its welcome. At its peak it was great but everything must end. 7 seasons is nothing to sneeze at. Combined with the characters time on smallville. GA has had a solid TV run.
I hope the book comes back soon Put him on a team if you want him more involved but he I like him protecting his own turf.

that's sad to hear. i hope it will be replaced by other dc properties.
that's sad to hear. i hope it will be replaced by other dc properties.
I think the Batwoman show is replacing it.
I have been thinking about who should be the writer when Green Arrow restarts. I know it has just been said it will relaunch but no details have been provided but I was thinking how about author Jason Starr. He is a proven crime writer and his wolf pack books he can write horror. His Gotham novels shows he can handle crime/tv tie-in/DC Universe. Green Arrow has been a testing ground for writers who are not normally comic book writers. So with that being said should he be the next Green Arrow writer.
that's sad to hear. i hope it will be replaced by other dc properties.
Maybe GA can get into the movies too.
