Forgive my disrespect for going off-topic, but I hope in the future we see a DC martial arts movie, starring Cassandra Cain, with the antagonist Lady Shiva.
nah no worries, it's a thread to discuss anything martial arts related.
Is Black Manta a meta? I thought he just had tech?
Also people need to educate me on Bloodsport. I'm only familiar with the movie version and that one Superman arc
Black Manta isn't a meta. I think the poster was just trying to condense my descriptions for the tiers and just misused what I meant by meta. I meant meta in the sense of something exceptional that sets the standard.

Not much else to know really. He is one of those character the movie version will supplant the comics, just like Starlord in the comics become pretty much the movie version.

Imagine Cassandra and Stephanie have a fight scene like this, considering they play video games together haha

I would love to see Stephanie smug face beating Cass on the game

so I posted my tiers on Twitter and Tumblr and this was one of the rankings I got back from tumblr. thoughts?
I'm fairly certain Wonder Woman or Artemis should be in one of thee but otherwise, I guess its a solid list.
I'm fairly certain Wonder Woman or Artemis should be in one of thee but otherwise, I guess its a solid list.
Yeah, the way DC handles MA is weird. some characters who should be masters... rarely use it because they're super strong.

If Tekken 7, or Tekken 8 brought in a guest character from DC, who do you guys think is a solid choice?
Batman is on my mind. Putting his tools away, taking his martial arts background into consideration, and the fact that he's fought the best fighters in DC, it'd be interesting to see his moves from learning 127 styles come into play.
Lady Shiva, Cassandra Cain, and Nightwing would also be interesting to see.

I mean this sort of thing is small potatoes by Saiyan standards, but to actual normal Human beings? Yeah... no.

You're not wrong. Though take in consideration that they still brought in Negan, and they still have many human characters who have still yet to perform feats of power on the same level as the Mishimas (Not even using the Devil Gene), Bryan, Feng Wei, and Paul.

Has another been following the Robin martial arts series? any notable fights and ranking you might wanna add? from what I've seen it looks like Damian may be making a case for being part of the upper tiers.
reminder for the tiers
characters that have abilities that do not compliment or factor into their martial arts, or have powers that make their martial arts largely irrelevant, are not eligible for the tier rankings. For example, Midnighter, Deathstroke and Duke Thomas all have superhuman enhancements that factor directly into (and do not take away from) their martial arts prowess; whereas characters like Superman, Black Lightning and Wonder Woman have powers that, more or less, make their martial arts skill irrelevant most of the time.

with that being said, here's how I'm breaking down the tiers.
SS Tier (God Tier) "martial arts is my superpower." more than a legend, this tier is for fighters that effectively transcend traditional martial arts and have reached a point where their combat ability are effectively metahuman or mystical in status.
S Tier (Legendary Tier) this tier is for characters that have skills beyond reasonable human ability and can reliably tangle with certain metahumans. these fighters are the "meta" of the DC martial arts world, meaning their skills are the stuff of legend that set the bar for martial arts in the DC universe.

A Tier (Master Tier) these individuals have a distinct fighting style and are athletes operating at the peak of human ability. These are masters of their respective martial arts disciplines and can typically produce capable fighters as pupils. from this tier onward guns become nearly irrelevant.
B Tier (Elite Tier) these are exceptional combatants that possess combat skills that are leagues ahead of the average fighter. those in this tier are typically near-peak level athletes, relative to an olympian.
C Tier (Very Good Tier) these are the above-average fighters. typically hardened from experience and can handle most henchmen and street-level threats with no problem. these characters possess above-average physicality and while guns pose a threat, they're not a significant threat.
D Tier (Decent/Upper Brawler Tier) these are typically self-taught or undisciplined fighters who still know how to handle themselves in a fight.

Lex Luthor would fight like an average guy at best and I wouldn't bother putting him on the list
Not quite.
hmm I figured Lex would have had some degree of training.
He does. After having his brain transferred into a young clone body he took up karate training to stay fit.
The Superman encyclopedia notes that he sometimes trains with his bodyguards. He also beat Boss Moxie in a fist fight.
I'd put him at a high D Tier personally.
-
Connor Hawke is the one who is treated as the biggest threat in the Robin series, and Damian will probably beat him by the end of it.

He didnt but I would say he has improved dramatically
-
Yeah, Damian lost clean to Connor but it wasn't a stomp.

Are there Superverse characters (not Kryptonians), or are they all like children throwing punches in the air?
