it was not long they knew eachother, what bonded them was what they had in common, their dreams of the mutant race, magneto would not have cared if xavier was human, also Xavier saved him to an extent,

This scene sums up the heart of their friendship. xavier is the one who helps him develop his powers, finally magneto knowing the difference of when to use rage and serenity, that would not have happened if not for xavier.' just even ignoring the great use of music score and VFX of this scene. this kind of film, style stands out more beyond the big cgi city battles you see in other films were it leans more on loud noise.
While there is no doubt Ian Mckellen and Patrick Stewart gave a different power and allure to the dynamic, I think first class was the best to capture why they cannot quit eachother and will always have a friendship despite their drastic different philosophies, that is explored best in the film.
I'm not saying they weren't really close when they had that falling out. Just saying they weren't close for long at all. It's suppsoe to be this epic friendship. Don't get me wrong it worked for the movie but it's pail in comparison to the comics. These "Old" friends were together her for a couple weeks it seemed. Beast and Mystique are his real old friends in that world.

I think that is the point of writing a narrative, that could fail or work. Titanic's love story was only in 5 days. there just has to be bond or a theme that connects people together that even though it is for a short time, it could change or set a recourse in their lives.
It does pail compared to the comics. But it is not good comparison. First Class was ...was up to six months and they had not seen each other in 10 years in DOFP, so this is where the old friend thing only starts to work. Also I never saw their dynamic more as epic, I saw it more as a very complex relationship with a high level of respect with some love/friendship.

Ugh. The romance in Titanic.
Lady throws a rock in the ocean, worth enough to keep her family comfortable for at least 2-3 generations...all over a weiner attached to a guy who would’ve likely dumped her within weeks of landing in the USA.

It's a personal favorite. It's one of the few prequels to really work for me. The supporting cast are the weak link but they get the job done.

I liked Shaw but I thought this was fun.
