Every time I look at these I think "Man it would be nice if Marvel still used Johnny as creatively now as they did back then."

I agree.
Last month's issue of Marvel 2-in-One had Johnny control temperature and create a giant flaming claw. It was the most creative Johnny's been in years.

I'm going to miss Zdarsky writing an FF book. :(

Although the latter shouldn't be as solid as Pyro's fire constructs, that's his specialty.

I think he is still on the book. I know at least the next two issues have FF members.

They don't have to be as complex as Pyro's because Johnny has more powerful flames. But he should still create fire constructs and do other creative things more often. Like absorbing temperature to the point of freezing, things like that.

I know he has two issues left, it's just sad that it's ending November. He's been great on this book and I hope he writes more FF related books in the future.

Wait, is it officially ending? Ah dang i had not heard that.
I thought it was continuing as a team book. That’s sad because this book has been absolutely fantastic (pun intended :) )
No, he said he was doing something that's a spiritual successor with different characters in the new year. All that's been announced though is Invaders, which is probably what he left his other book Spectacular Spider-Man for.

"The Coming of the Plantman!"
Late again for one of his dates with Doris Evans, Johnny arrives to be witness to Dorry's
father firing his gardener for wasting his time on a device that stimulates plant growth.
Vengeful, and after his device is struck by lightning giving it the ability to make him control plants totally,

the gardener becomes the criminal known as Plantman.

As Plantman, Smithers tries to frame Dorry's father with robbing the store in which he works and planting evidence pointing blame to Mr. Evans.
Johnny vows to clear Mr. Evans' name and ends up battling with the Plantman.

The two are at a match until the Torch begins to gain the lead.
The Plantman then escapes by hiding in a tree, planning to strike again with a more devious plan.
Afterward, Doris thanks Johnny for clearing her father's name.

"The Human Torch Meets... Captain America!"
After a training session with his sister, the Human Torch learns of an
antique car show which boasts that Captain America will make an appearance.

While there seeing his childhood idol, some thieves steal the box office receipts for the show, but Torch
and Captain America manage to stop them. However Cap tells the Torch to go away, and steals all the glory.
Later that night "Cap" springs the crooks out of jail.

When the Torch learns of this he goes after the criminals who admit that "Cap" planned the whole thing.
After a chase across the city, the Torch manages to catch "Captain America"
and unmasks him, revealing him to be the Torch's old foe the Acrobat.

Yuletide? But the cover says March, which should mean it came out in January - after Christmas!
Yuletide? But the cover says March, which should mean it came out in January - after Christmas!
Well, it was the first issue, and the series was bi-monthly (every other month) for the first six issues, so who knows when it was originally expected to be available?
