She was, actually. After the team freed her from the Shadow King's thrall. She stayed on after until leaving to find her siblings in Madripoor.
We know Claremont is not the same. I have no expectations about the script.
But Sienkiewicz art worth it all.
Damn Skippy!
I'm getting this for the Sienkiewicz art only.
You had me at Sienkiewicz. I only wish that Synch, Chamber, M and Penance were all members of the New Mutants.
God, I wish there was a Gen X/New Mutants story with Sienkiewicz and Bachalo on art.

Am I the only one wondering if this is a good idea? It's going to be very difficult for these two to replicate their 80's alchemy. I'm also not 9 anymore. Some things are better left to the past. I hope it turns out okay!

Claremont's recent stuff has been surprisingly good. It hasn't been excessively written. So either he has made the decision to make his work more streamlined, or his editor is reining him in.
X-Men Black: Magneto and his X-Terminated back-up were lowkey highkey the best X-Men stories in years
if it weren't for hickman than a claremont one-shot would be the best x-book of the year, just like one was last year

I 100% agree. Claremont, Sienkiewicz, and the New Mutants? A total triple threat.
I look forward to a great story, art, and these much-loved characters.

It's just a one-shot. I think the goal here is just to tell a story for the present generation to appreciate. If in the process they manage to spin straw into gold, so be it.
As for the talent, I still find myself pouring over Sienkiewicz's artwork from 30+ years ago in awe. And he still has that same legendary creative vision. (Check his 2019 gallery on his website.) No, I'm not worried in the least.

That cover is beautiful!
One of my favorite creative teams on my favorite comic book team!
Guessing this is to fill the void of just two X books per month.
