The bottom of the barrel seems to be where GOP excuses are all coming from right now.
Incidentally, the FBI is having their first press conference after 1/6.
Imagine if after 9/11, no law enforcement or intelligence organization spoke to the media for six days.
America could get a majority of the population vaccinated, and achieve herd immunity one day but when will there be a time when we are vaccinated against the currently rampaging moral and intellectual virus known as Trumpism? Where does it end? How can we mitigate it? Better media? Destroying all right-wing propaganda media like Info Wars and Fox News?
The reason these media outlets have the platform they do is because most of the business community and moneyed interests in this country are putting their resources behind them in order to cast anything that even remotely resembles left wing policy as communism. The MAGA mob are useful idiots for them, because help to undermine faith in the government which in turn makes it more difficult for any administration to enact regulations that might cut into their bottom line. Don't be fooled by the likes of Twitter and Amazon trying to paint themselves as the "good" corporations - after all they were the ones who willingly gave the right wingers their platform to begin with and profited immensely from it in the last few years, only stepping in at the 11th hour when the wave of public pressure was too great to ignore.
A situational information report approved for release the day before the U.S. Capitol riot painted a dire portrait of dangerous plans, including individuals sharing a map of the complex’s tunnels, and possible rally points for would-be conspirators to meet up in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and South Carolina and head in groups to Washington.
“As of 5 January 2021, FBI Norfolk received information indicating calls for violence in response to ‘unlawful lockdowns’ to begin on 6 January 2021 in Washington. D.C.,” the document says. “An online thread discussed specific calls for violence to include stating ‘Be ready to fight. Congress needs to hear glass breaking, doors being kicked in, and blood from their BLM and Pantifa slave soldiers being spilled. Get violent. Stop calling this a march, or rally, or a protest. Go there ready for war. We get our President or we die. NOTHING else will achieve this goal.”
And yet there are wat too many people that say Cruz and Howley had now way of knowing what was going to happen. now way to know what they were saying would inflame people. or that this was just a planned peaceful protest that got out of hand because of a few bad actors.
And, Zip Tie Guy.
Which brings us to Eric Munchel.
In one of the more terrifying images of last week, a man believed to be Munchel, wearing dark fatigues and a face-obscuring black gaiter, climbed over a railing in the Senate Gallery. He wore a Taser holstered to his hip and gripped a bunch of zip-tie handcuffs in one hand. While his fellow raiders were busy “scratching their balls” in Nancy Pelosi’s office or literally pooping on the Capitol’s floors, Zip Tie Guy had the mien of someone who had breached the complex with an actual nefarious plan involving hostages or worse.

In several, he was accompanied by a graying 57-year-old woman. And this is the point at which the portrait of Munchel became fuller, because this is the point at which it became a working theory that Zip Tie Guy had brought his mom to the revolution.
In a security camera image from earlier that afternoon, a pair of tourists, believed to be Munchel and mom, left their Hyatt hotel with matching cups of coffee in hand as if setting off for a long day at the Smithsonians. In a cellphone clip a few hours later, he ushers her up the stairs inside the Capitol, one hand steering her shoulder as they went about their illegal siege.
This is correct. When I hear of major corporations speaking out, I can't help wonder how many of those decisions came after board members privately concurred, "whelp, taxes and the courts look better, guess we got all out of this buffoon we're likely to get..."

Remember how Trump kept calling to "Lock Her Up" well into his Presidency?
So calling for unity by leaving him alone is just more GOP hypocrisy.

"We can make baseless accusations of criminal activity and chant for the arrest of whomever we please. You, however, cannot bring us to justice on crimes we commit in front of your eyes in plain sight.
To think otherwise means you don't truly want unity in this country."

They isolated the part of a video where the fire extinguisher is thrown that hits Officer Sickwick in the head, and believe it's the blow that killed him.Suspect who threw it had his image isolated. He looks to be retired Chicago Fire Dept., based on the knit hat he was wearing.

Update since I last read the story, suspect listed in photo is David Quintavalle. Still not confirmed if he's the one who did it, but he was definitely present at the capitol during the riot.
