Sydow of course was the actor who played Lor San Tekka, the character who pretty much was the catalyst for the sequel trilogy, as he found a map to Luke and gave it to Poe. "This will begin to make things right".
The character has also showed up in the Kylo Ren comics, which touch upon his past with Luke and Ben.
