Avengers # 63
I came across a Web site that states that I wrote a letter that appeared in the above title back in the '70s. I have no recollection of writing any such letter, and I'd be very grateful if anyone who has that issue could scan in the letters page(s) and post it here.
-
That issue was actually published in 1969, are you sure it was #63?
-
Avengers #63 contains letters from the following people:
Gary Lachman
Robert Day Lynch
Jose L. Medina
Randy Shepherd
Bryant Stavely
Keith Cooper
Daniel Lewenstein
Richard Sodowsky
Are you one of those people?
-
If it was the 70s, any chance it was Avengers 163?
That has letters from Paul Carlini, John Barrett, Dave Pfeil, Dwight Miyakawa, and Bryan Reeves.
-
My apologies to all of you for not responding earlier. I'm supposed to get e-mail notification of new posts, but didn't receive any.
And my thanks to all of you.
Witchfan, yes I'm one of those.
-
Right, so you had the date wrong and now we've confirmed the issue number. I'm glad that got cleared up. Witchfan, show us that letters page as doniel requested in the first post please.
-
I don't do scans. Since your letter was in the issue, you can go buy the issue.
-
That's a little expensive just to see what I wrote. But I do understand that you don't do scans.
Does anyone else have that issue and is willing to scan?
-
I tried looking at one of the pirate sites. Unfortunately the issue was missing it's letters pages. Which is odd, as it isn't sourced from an official digital edition (which tend to omit editorial and advert pages). Why wouldn't scan groups include the entire issue?
It's actually quite a notable issue - it's the one where Hawkeye becomes Goliath.
-
I see a fine grade quality on ebay for $11 usd so unless you care about it being a mint copy it's very affordable. Hope you get one that's cool.

^ Post a link please.

Yeah, I had already checked that to see if I could find it but it sadly wasn't included.

It's too bad that Comixology doesn't include the letters and comments sections -- or the adds, for that matter -- for all of its back issue digital comics. Some have it, some don't.
-
That depends on the publisher. Marvel's are just covers and story, but other publishers may include the back matter. Personally, I think they should include all backmatter, but not including third party ads is understandable.
