They'd be relegated to the realm of pachinko forever, otherwise.

Or more idiotic zombie apocalyse scenarios. *shudders* If/when this occurs, I'm wondering if Iga and Kojima will be interested in returning to the series or being consultants. Silent Hill also one of the three franchises looking to be sold as well, so maybe PT could finally become a proper game (again, assuming Kojima has any interest).

iga would jump at the chance to work on another castlevania game (hopefully based on the demon castle war).
kojima? he's the question mark. even if he could come back, would he? what more is there left to tell in MGS? possibly a reboot of the series? a side story we never got to see? and according to my friend who worked on MGS5, kojima was looking burned out by the time they finished.
They should go and save Bloody Roar while they're at it.
I would imagine that any burnout exhibited by Kojima is more closely tied to his game being wildly over budget, unfinished at launch and with the board of Konami being so angry at him that they made a concentrated effort to eject him from the company and kept all his IP rather than fatigue with the MGS franchise itself.
All that said, if someone can rescue ZOE from Konami and get a third game made, that would be extremely cool.
I just dug up Fire Pro Wrestling Returns from my PS2...And now I wanna create all my characters there into modern wrestling games.
Jim Dares will come back to the ring!

that too. she says that those last few months were hell on pretty much everyone. she said it was affecting how kojima was speaking. according to her, kojima has a odd way of speaking, both in english and japanese, that she called "kojima speak". i asked her what that meant. she just said you'd have to hear it yourself. but it seems to tie into how much energy and creativity on the project he was working on. by the end, his speaking was more formal and rigid.
Castlevania the Demon Wars/1999/ Symphony of the Night 2?! Oh hell yes, if Sony does that, Inam all for it.

i really wanna see what a prime julius was like. he was pretty old by the time of AOS and he was giving full power soma a run for his money, even if he was holding back.

I feel that Castlevania 1999 is one of those things best left to the imagination, or as a Hail Mary play to effectively end the series on the highest of high notes.
The ripple effect and fallout of Julius' adventure some 36 years later in Aria and Dawn of Sorrow carries with it a far reaching effect that simply can't adequately be conveyed through Metroidvania's gameplay style, and the less said about 3D Castlevania, the better.
...to be frank, it'd probably have to be something silly like a Musou game, but then it wouldn't be Castlevania anymore.

He had plans for a game starring the Boss at one point. I wouldn’t mind that.
...Oh and hey. Of Sony gets Metal Gear, the chances chances of Revengeance 2 rises.

If they don't call it "re: Vengeance" I'll be annoyed.
