Me! Me! I love Gillen's work.

Same here! I'm lowkey dreading Marvel's placement of advertisements in between Ribic's gorgeous art but otherwise I am very excited. Maybe I'll just spring for a collection down the road.

Well what did people think of Eternals #1?
First off, it was absolutely beautiful. Just stunning work by Ribic.
As for the script, I found it a little below the quality of the art but still a strong start. As a primer on what the Eternals are it worked well enough, and the data pages alone made me excited for the future of the book as it is clear Gillen has put a TON of thought into the book, but this issue itself was a bit dry. And unfortunately the big reveal on the last page was well spoiled by now. Not the book's fault but it did hurt the reading experiance.
I'd say it was a solid 8/10. But I'm very excited for what's ahead.

So the excluded are Kronos and Sprite.
Are the others Thanos, Eros, A’Lars and Sui-San? The Uranian/Titan Eternals?
Is the mass Eternal slaughter from the backstory something from a prior comic, or is that new to explain the various gender and/or race flips like Sprite, Sersi and Makkari? (to match the movie?)
So I take it that Zuras and A’lars are “brothers” in the sense that they both got a massive reboot and Kronos took them under his wing?

The mass slaughter is from their last appearance in Jason Aaron’s current Avengers series from 2018/2019.

Ah, explains why I didn't know about it. Giving that series a very wide berth, I am.
Quick question: if Sprite can become a female with no problem, why didn't they just put them into an adult body and avoid them becoming a villain?

Presumably because their apparent purpose is to be the Eternal Child?
