I'm starting to get really emotional . As a fan, I had never thought that a BP movie would have ever been made let alone be nominated/win an Oscar but the day finally came.
Can't believe this is happening.

Too bad Stan wasn’t around to see this.
MoS, time to update the accolades list
What a time to be a BP fan! Best costume, best production design, best score... Oscars still going? We gotta get another one then take the big one

We done came a long way
10 years from now all the young whipper snappers will take this for granted and they'll be callin us the old heads who always talk about "back in our day, BP didn't have movie appearances, AAA video games, and multi-season cartoon shows". And they'll be like "*yaaawn*..whatever gramps!" Hahaha
But y'know wh at? We'll never forget 2018 :D
Never

Oscars over and the white savior movie won-Green Book-
Spike Lee tried to walk out and Twitter is not having a good time in accepting it.
Octavia Spencer who helped make the film almost didn't get into the Oscars. She had to win via a lottery.

Don't forget once upon a time SPider-Man on tv was Peter Parker and some Asian guy in the 70s with a Spider Buggy.
Now he's biracial kid whose movie won an Oscar and featured a black director-who is the first to win that one.
So two movies that featured first timers and that can't be taken away from either.

If that doesn't speak volumes about what folks think and how some folks get treated then I dunno what.
Still ain't gonna kill the hype cause BP still took 3 and still broke more glass ceilings
Don't forget Black Panther Quest season finale just aired tonight. I'm watching it now
[spoil]T'Challa is dethroned for two seconds and Atlantis invades? They destroyed Wakanda a little too easily[/spoil]
well the season was fun with a lot of surprises.
I'm not in love with the final two episodes. Definitely didn't end the way I thought it was going to. I'm assuming there isn't going to be a season 2.
EDIT: T'Challa has a pretty arduous character arc, but he survives in the end
I'd almost be more bothered if it didn't win Best Costume design than best picture, because that one at least should be a slam dunk. I don't think there legitimately was anything in it's league.
Traditionally, the Academy has loved "Period Porn." There was definitely a risk of something like The Favourite winning. Granted, I thought Black Panther was clearly the better choice just because period pieces are a little "easy." But the originality in Black Panther put it over the edge. Production Design was a bigger surprise. I was rooting for it all year, but it did have a lot of CGI sets so I thought The Favourite might win that one (and both would have been well-deserved). Best Score is the surprising one to me. I didn't love it as much as Isle of Dogs or Blakkklansman, but I'm glad to see it win.
