I remember everyone in this picture except the muppet behind Prairie Dawn and Cookie Monster. I have no idea who that is.
I have no memory of her, apparently Rodeo Rose - https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Rodeo_Rosie
In looking her up...

Thought it might have been ^ the prototype of this "cowboy" also featured in the later years cast pic
Have a vague memory of him as he was a recurring character, Ironically his name is "Forgetful Jones" LOL!
Besides the Muppet wiki- https://muppet.fandom.com/wiki/Forgetful_Jones
Looking him up came across this wonderful series of vids- 50 Retired Sesame Street Muppets, this is (Part 2):
Jump or click- 13:17 for Forgetful Jones.

He's also upfront between Oscar and Ernie here. Love this ^ cast pic!.

I also thought it might have been an early prototype of Forgetful Jones because his horse, Buster, is also in the picture (up on the balcony next to Mr. Hooper). But while his horse is there, Forgetful apparently is not. I guess he forgot about the photoshoot.

LOL! Good catch, didn't even notice the horse up there.;)
So at this point (other than those who've obviously passed (Mr. Hooper(Lee), Dave(Calloway) ) are there any one of the human first wave cast members still left on the show?

I think Gordon was the last one, and he retired last year.
Hard to imagine Bob is now 87 years old...

Did Batman & Superman actually appear on Sesame Street?
I do remember Spider-Man on Electric Company.
Edit:
LOL, just looked it up. Were apparently a couple of animated segments.

"S for Superman" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hRKBPTu8vw
LOL I was hoping like Spider-Man, it was live action incarnation of them on the show.
Meeting Bob, Gordon, Susan, Mr. Hooper, Luis & Maria
And of course the monster team-ups!?
Superman & Super Grover
Batman & Robin with Bert & Ernie.
Wonder Woman & Prairie Dawn
Black Canary and the Hawks with Bigbird!
As a member of the first class that watched Sesame Street, I remember those Batman and Superman shorts fondly. : ) As for Spidey, I also remember him, but he wasn't as good as the version from the '60s cartoon.
Bit of a crossover from the DC promo thread.
Anyone else remember or catch these back when they aired?

Anyone have?
Whoa... I never even knew that play set existed. I would have killed for that.
Although it's obviously stylized and condensed, that playset was actually visually pretty faithful to the original stage set.
The main 123 Sesame Street brownstone with the construction doors and room for Grouche's can and Big Bird's nest on the side.
In the middle the expanding "courtyard" which doubled in back as a chalkboard. And on the other side Hooper's Store and the Fix-it shop, all featured.
Came with eight characters; Gordon, Susan, Mr. Hooper, Ernie, Bert, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster.
There was also an expansion pack with more characters.
Grover, Roosevelt Franklin, the Count, Prairie Dawn, Herry Monster, Sherlock Hemlock and Mr. Snuffleupagus.
I like how they just straight forward called the set "More! Sesame Street Characters". LOL!

For the 50th anniversary wish they would reissue these, and continue adding more of the human cast and more Muppet characters.
Never saw Follow That Bird!:
It was really fun. It was the classic cast in a pre elmo era (elmo is in one scene with no talking!) and had a big screen budget on the big screen. Jim henson did kermet the frog and ernies voices also. The film was aimed for all ages and not just small kids so it was made more like a muppet movie with the seseme street cast and guest stars as well. It did have songs also. Of the three big screen seseme street films it's the only one adults could really enjoy. (look up the grouch diner scene!) The next two films adventures of elmo in grouchland and abby in wonderland were more kid aimed.
Here's the grouch diner scene.
