I had an idea a while ago about taking most of the Academy X/New X-Men kids and pulling a Mutant X with them and stranding them all on a parallel Earth where a massive fight with Apcolypse killed all mutants. Something like the plot of the first X-Men movie where Xavier is faced with a choice of killing all humans or mutants only he choose the lesser of the two evils and killed all mutants that had an active or close to active x-gene at the time. Now a decade latter the x-gene is starting to emerge again and the kids would have to fill the role of the X-Men on this world. The only survivor of the mutant genocide would be Hank McCoy who only survived because of all the tampering he had done on himself over the years, but he would be crippled and in a wheelchair sort of like how Xavier was.
You do this as a 12 issue maxi series letting the character from New X-Men really shine and take center stage on a world level with Surge being one of those front and center. If it works out you keep the series going and if not then you have the kids come home at the end of the series.

Add Sunfire to this and you might have something.

If Krakoa's resurrecting mutants, just add Sunpyre.

The concept of the book is mutants who don't fit in on Krakoa, both Surge and Armor have made vocal complaints about the way the X-Men operate, of being treated as disposable fodder or inexperienced and defenseless children
-
Oh what? I thought you just wanted an all-Japanese X-Men book.
lol

It's time for her to do something other than stand in the background.

The concept is more nuanced than that as its about mutants with dark pasts, which neither female have. Adding them gives it more of a teeny bopper vibe to me

One thing has nothing to do with the other LMAO
If even Mystique and Sabertooth can work with Xavier, the kids not wanting to live in Krakoa because of the evil ways of the X-Men would be laughable. Fallen Angels is a book about edgy kill-happy people who get their hands dirty. Armor and Surge don't fit that bill and have been so far away from the spotlight that, even if they did, nobody would care. At least the Fallen Angels cast all had appearances in the last six months and some level of relevance.

The Fallen Angels line-up should be Vanisher's goo corpse, John Hickenlooper, Waluigi, Don the Lobster, and Skids.

That's just a bonus

Surge is a former drug user who lived on the streets and Armor's power levels are directly proportional to the deaths of her loved ones
It's kinda hard to name any X-Men without dark pasts

X-23, sure. But what “dark history” does WiFi have besides shooting his older self in the head? Surge’s definitely has a more tragic backstory than Bable.

Give her a team and let's see.

She better lead to a good book. I've been on IV drips since ResurreXion.
