If the goal of Retribution is to destroy the WWE, why would they sign with them? They were already doing it anyway, so why be their employee? And if you're WWE, why would you hire them?
Why would the writer's intentionally make a point of having them say they were signed when it makes zero sense and only makes it more complicated for no reason?
-
Honestly this was probably the worst Raw in quite some time in terms of booking decisions and things not making sense.

Cause the WWE has been SHIT with invasion angles since 2001. They just can't understand how to book an invasion angle and how its important to keep the stable that is invading now look lame as shit or do this booking wise. I have said it for how many years on this board from NWO 2002/2003 invasion , the ECW 2005/6 Invasion and finally the Nexus in 2010.

It makes sense for Retribution to try to destroy WWE from within. However, it makes no sense from WWE's end. What exactly do they get out of the deal?

But they were already destroying them from without. How would a piece of paper from the company they want to destroy do to change what they were already doing?

Retribution feeding with Keith Lee would a good feud. Dio Madden and Dijakovik are good matches for Lee. Honestly, there new names take away some great stories.
Mia Yum leaving Keith Lee for Dijakovic is a hot feud. Dio Madden wanting to destroy Lawler for forgetting about him when he took that beating from Brock.
People don't like Underground, but the presentation of
Braun
Ziggler
Riddick Moss
Titus ONeil
Eric
Have been a much needed improvement.
Now that Raw has picked up five new people can we ship Ziggler and Mustafa Ali to NXT. They would strive there.

Wait, Retribution (totally not Anti-Fa) is signed on to WWE in-character?
Is that meant to be commentary on the state of WWE creative? The company (on-screen) represents Vince's decision making process (in reality), by doing something wholly nonsensical?
It makes as much sense as Anti-uh, Retribution only attacking (totally at random and unexpectedly) between 8-11pmEST on Monday nights.
-
Also it's blatantly obvious who these people are, WWE just wants you to ignore NXT entirely here. And I get that not everyone who watches Raw watches NXT, but quite a few do. And even if they don't, some of them at least kind of now who's in NXT. So this story isn't even more idiotic on that front.
WWE's, wishy washy, acknowledging of NXT in-storyline in general is frustrating. Either it's canon, or it's not, make up your minds.

Also, apparently by signing for WWE, this means that Retribution is now permitted to do backstage beat downs.
Which is...just...what?

Its almost insane to have the WCW Video of the NWO and seeing how bad ass that invasion was seeing as how it had a HOLY FUCK WHO GETS BEAT DOWN TONIGHT AND THESE GUYS AREN'T IN COMPANY ! Its only later Bischoff was the money guy and had them outside WCW. But here its almost comical as how badly this stable was created and ran. Even Aces & 8's in TNA was booked better as outsiders than this.

Well, the company is officially authorizing an underground fight club, so it's not that far off come to think of it.

Lol. I thought backstage beatdown were always permitted. It happens like every other week for the last couple of decades.
Signing a group so they don't ruin your main events or attack your mom wrestling talent makes sense. I mean it's the WWE, where there are no hospitals just medical facilities.Where every cop looks like a detective off of NYPD Blue.
