The Superman costume change alone is one major reason I don't support the Nu52. Imagine if Chris Reeve had worn that abomination.

He does look a little more dictator-ey.
Well, you should know at least that Green Lantern basically just picked up right where it left off from the Pre-Flashpoint volume. They have referenced events from the past timeline, but it mainly just trucks on as its own little corner of the DCU, which I like myself, without much reference to the other stuff going on. The only real thing that's indicated that this is a new universe is the fact that Hal didn't recognize Supergirl when he saw her as a Red Lantern. Although, that's just a minor detail. I know you're a big Hal Jordan fan (like myself), so I think that's something you'd like to know.
While I like that Green Lantern continued its continuity from the previous universe, it also created a bevy of problems. Suddenly, Hal Jordan's entire career was condensed into 5 years, which further created complications for Kyle Rayner's career as well. It contradicted every other character in the new DCU, save for Batman and his family who had their own continuity nightmare. Though I may not like it, a full on reboot should have been done with GL along with every other character.
On a side note, my good will toward the Nu52 GL universe ended after Johns left and Vendetti took over so even that has left a sour taste in my mouth.
I don't know...it kind of looks good on Reeve.

You are dead to me, Buried! :p

I'll leave behind a ring with a Buried Alien suit in it.

But then you will come back several years later and the person who replaced you will get erased from existence anyway. :p

part of that is because it's brighter coloured and the lines are better defined, instead of thin gaps they're thick seems adding to the definition.

Yeah...love it when that happens.

Yeah, then again, almost everything looked good on Reeve.

That, and also because Christopher Reeve just looked damn cool in just about any variant of a Superman suit one can think of.

Henry Cavill could easily have pulled off the classic Superman costume and still made it look compelling.

Is it a bad thing that I actually think that doesn't look half-bad?
Anyway, like all costumes, it really depends on the artist drawing it. For example, it doesn't look half bad when Jae Lee or Lee Weeks are drawing it.

I, for one, am kind of glad they did away with the trunks.

Not bad. The New 52 suit looks OK on him too.
Only one rendition of the New 52 suit I absolutely did not like, and ironically, it was George Perez, who is usually one of my favorites (if not all-time favorite). More than any other artist who has illustrated the New 52 Superman suit, Perez made it look like body armor, which made me think "Iron Man" more than "Superman."

Check out those boots: definitely more Iron Man than Superman.

It would be better if the belt was yellow and the red and blue was brighter
