Oh thank Zen-o. Getting Yamcha'd is not a good look for her after everything else she's survived. :p

Oh that doesn't change, but the circumstances she wakes up in are significantly more dire.

Well damn now I'm even more curious. This should be a ride!

What do you mean getting Yamcha'd?
Those two things are not the same at all.
Oh that. Yeah, it's super dumb. Dominic Raab (deputy Prime Minister and lumpy bag of mince) has wanted to get rid of the Human Rights Act his whole career for some reason.
Does the UK have any member of the current government in whom one should convey the right to pick out the dessert in their lunchbox, much less run an executive branch? It's ugly.

Erm...
I hear that Ben Wallace (Sec. for Defence) is not completely incompetent. Mostly by dint of him not doing much media appearances and the military supplies support for Ukraine has been going pretty well from our side.
Umm...
Alok Sharma (Cop26 President)... occasionally has flashes of not being a complete sycophantic idiot.
Err...
I think that's it. The rest of them have pretty much zero redeeming features.
EDIT: It is also worth noting that all members of the current cabinet have to have a tolerance for criminality, corruption and bullshit that allows them to defend the indefensible. Also, the Johnson administration has zero ideas, zero projects and nothing of substance or value.
I do despair. Johnson limps on, despite his mauling in the leadership contest. Maybe the 1922 Committee will get their shit together to oust him later this year but who will replace him is an open question.
It's a rough time to be in the UK.

I have a double bucketful of British ex-pat friends here. They never stop insulting the French (it's genetic, I think), but absolutely do not want to go home.

A very interesting question.

If this was a TV show, it would be hilarious. :( It's not, so it's just agonizing to watch.
I get dribs and drabs of what's happening in the Guardian and from someone chronicling Johnson's government on Tumblr (hashtag The Adventures of Big Dog the Clown, which admittedly is written in a way that's painfully amusing). It's...*shakes head* I'm amazed at the sheer gall of people who defend the indefensible, as you say.
Am currently tormenting my wife with requests to get some kind of case for all of my various blades. Preferably with doors and backlighting. "That would be sick!"
It's possibly not my wisest choice of topics in the last week.
Edit: Her response: 'You're talking like that, now?' complete with horrified smilie.
Success!

It’s getting like Italy must have been during the Berlusconi years.
I’ll be slightly more generous than Nik and say that Rishi Sunak hasn’t been completely inept as Chancellor of the Exchequer, but his gold plating has definitely tarnished somehow recently. Nobody likes a billionaire during a cost-of-living crisis, but especially one who’s supposedly in charge of the UK economy but whose billionaire wife (until recently caught out) claimed non-domicile status in the UK for tax purposes.
But yeah, outside of Wallace, Sharma and Sunak, it’s pretty much a Marx Bros. spoof of a political shit-show.
I mean the Tories managed to set a new record last week in terms of biggest reversal of a majority in history when losing a seat in Parliament in a by-election which had been vacated by one of their own MPs when he was caught actually watching porn while supposedly working in the House of Commons.

I moved recently and no longer have the big drawer I used to store my swords in. Now they're stuck just awkwardly shuffled in a corner of my room until I figure out a better arrangement.

What did she compare it to using "like" or "as"? :D

Good to see you, man.
Yeah, mine are in a drawer. Which works. Hope you get a better setup soon.
Send me a PM or a post detailing what you have (preferably with pics). I'm always interested. ^_^

Just...'like that'. I believe she was referring to the 'sick' part. ^_^
