It's set on Earth-982, a universe which diverges heavily from the events of Revelations and The Gathering of the Five story arcs. Mayday was not stillborn and was rescued by Kaine and Peter lost his leg fighting the Green Goblin and retired as Spider-Man. There are canonical appearances by The Living Tribunal as well as Earth-616's Spider-Man, Mary Jane, Aunt May, Liz Allen, Betty Brant, J. Jonah Jameson, Flash Thompson and The Human Torch in a time travel adventure but the series is non-canon. Honestly though, even if its not canon, I like it better than 616.
The waiting is taking forever in order to discover what the Heck happened in the time-skip.

Marvel takes way too long with their Spider-Man mysteries, the wind is out of the sails by the time they reveal the things and it usually isn't worth the wait. Not many books can get away with letting things run on forever like that so I find it kind of like taking advantage of the readers and stringing them along. I am enjoying the current run more than most here and it could be a good payoff but it still rubs me the wrong way because of the track record.
I'm already tired of the mystery box, and this run. Just end it, say Peter and MJ are back together, and forget this whole thing.

The Goblins were one thing, Kindred was another, I just don't think anyone has the patience for it any more.
Especially with this quality of storytelling.
Mary Jane isnt a main sell like Peter(his Spider Alt Partners) and the villains. Outside of being his main squeeze, MJ in her own titles is just a generic/spunky good girl that models or uses the Spider Man cast to make herself unrealistically heroic.
I all fairness, it's the same thing they did with the Gwen mini. They probably just don't know better.

No, this is MC2 after another time-skip, glossing over what happened after Mayday's dad was resurrected in Spider-Geddon.
Not officially announced by them, but word is we're about to get a real life Spider-Marraige, Holland and Zedaya may be engaged

Let's hope they don't invite Joe Quesada to the wedding because then some guy named Eddie will ruin everything.

Um...if true, congratulations then!
I thought they were kind of young but I forget they're 26 now.

Do you mean Venom? Oh, wait . . . Venom wasn't even a thing before they got married.

No, Eddie was the name of the guy in One Moment in Time who beat the crap out of Spider-Man and made him late for the wedding in the current corrupted timeline. He was like a normal mugger and somehow got one over Peter.
