I think is wrong to assume that he is the new villain turning hero, just because he can act silly doesnt mean that deep down is silly. The more menacing in desing the better.
-
That Sinister jokes makes him that much more threatening and enjoyable for me. We already have Apocalypse to be serious. It is more or less easy to know what Apocalypse plans, what he thinks of something and he is easy to read.
Sinister is a wild card. We know that he plans something with chimeras, but why? Maybe even he doesn't know more than for the lulz. He knows that everyone in Krakoa despises him but needs him. He is enjoying the moment.

I really do enjoy this Sinister...a lot!
Claremont's Sinister was very "classic" but somewhat stereotypical as villains go.
I did not read anything of Gillen's Sinister thereafter so...no opinion on him.
And while I thought HiX-Man's HoX Sinister was too camp, he presented a very interesting dynamic.
Wells' Sinister sounds spot on. (I know I know...I couldn't help it). There's a good balance between the camp moments and the instances of his underlying dark malevolence.

Oh yeah that’s what Issue I got the sinister phalanx connection from. He was able to make himself a system with all his clones made with all types of mutants dna

I'm the only person left on the internet that would rather read a transcript than watch a 22 minute video essay.

If sinister can make himself a mutant by cloning what if he did it to the children of the atom kids

If there's going to be a MCU Sinister I want this version of him in the comics to be the inspiration.

Me too, I read pretty fast, about 100 pages an hour, and prefer to do so while listening to music, so podcasts just annoy me for wasting my time.
